At least social distancing won't be a problem in the stands.

Two teams have withdrawn because of outbreaks. Another had one player test positive and the rest test negative. The last 23 teams have had no players nor support staffers test positive. Sounds like the league is doing a reasonably good job thus far at protecting people.

Nick Nostril: At least social distancing won't be a problem in the stands.

Um, because they are playing without crowds like basically all sports now?

Certainly, you aren't dumb enough to think that "nobody cares to go to MLS games" in general and make a stupid joke based on that?

Teams averaging over 20k a game in 2019
1 Atlanta United FC 52,510
2 Seattle Sounders 40,247
3 FC Cincinnati 27,336
4 Portland Timbers 25,218
5 Toronto FC 25,048
6 LA Galaxy 23,205
7 Orlando City SC 22,761
8 LAFC 22,251
9 NYC FC 21,107

If you want to make jokes about MLS TV ratings, that is a better thing to attack, but, their crowds in person are certainly "pro league" level in many markets.

Exactly. I'm shocked that Houston or the Florida clubs have been testing negative so far. I hope this keeps up. As a Union fan, this may be our only chance ever for a trophy

Lots of rumors/stories back and forth about what happened with Dallas and Nashville. League and the teams are quiet, but Taylor Twellman (commentator) has insinuated it was the teams fault, with some pushback coming from Dallas players.

Twellman could easily be talking out his ass, but for the women's soccer tournament the Orlando Pride team hit a bar in Florida the night before they were to enter the bubble, which lead to them being kicked from the tourney. Not sure if something similar happened here.

This at least solved the uneven group situation.

Twellman more often than not is correct with his info. He's the wojbomb of American soccer especially since Grant Wahl got shiatcanned from SI.

They have a lot of practice making a big deal out of it whenever they get breathed upon, so now's their time to shine.

1. Cancel sport due to pandemic
2. Open sport anyway in defiance of pandemic
3. Discover multiple sportspeople affected by pandemic
4. Repeat from Step 1

Too bad the level of play isn't.

/MLS is like watching an AYSO game with larger people.

You sound like the kind of person who thinks they could beat Brian Scalabrine in one-on-one play.

I'll never understand people's pathological need to shiat on others' good time. You don't like the MLS? Fine. Their quality of play not good enough for you? So what. Their attendance numbers fail to impress you? Who gives a fark? I think pro wrestling is stupid on level heretofore unheard of. I think NASCAR is boring except for disparity in IQ's between the people in the pits and the idiots in the stands. I think mma is human cockfighting and a barometer for how low society has fallen. What I don't do is go in those threads and take a dump all over what clearly a lot of people enjoy. I just ignore them.

So if you're in an MLS thread just to tell us you don't like the MLS, pretty please with sugar on it, fark off.
