They are confident about keeping control in the Senate. Trump is confident of a big win also.

That's because politicians are not capable of saying, "We're screwed!"

A well-timed migrant caravan panic, announce a DOJ investigation or three, combined with the standard voter suppression playbook, and they have no reason to be anything but optimistic about their chances.

Meh.  No party is going to come out and admit they're farked.

The fun part is watching the awkward dance to the song in their head instead of the one playing.

The GOP senators acknowledge keeping the Senate majority won't be easy, but they say it's far too early to throw in the towel.

Ah they've entered Operation Grift Phase C: keep the donors donating against hopeless odds.

Actually it's, present the bill for services rendered to their corporate lobbyists.

Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) added that he would "still bet on us but I'm frankly glad the election is not today."

Me too. Rona needs more time to thin out your ranks.

All the better imo. That way the screams and yowls of all the shocked Deplorables will sing me a sweet lullaby on the night of November 3rd. They've been a major pain in the arse to America for over 3 1/2 and I can't wait to send the whole bunch running straight back under the rocks where they skittered out of.

Every one of them has a wife or brother who's employed as a (rather expensive) election consultant.

At least I don't have to look at that goiter call McConnell anymore. Masks 1. Covid ...so many I've lost track of today's number.

No, it's because there's nothing to be gained by publicly admitting that.

C'mon, they still got four months of people dying from covid to turn around that they farked up big time.

I've seen plenty of "John Hickenlooper is corrupt and once said he didn't want to run for senate so vote Cory Gardner" ads in Colorado.

Here's to hoping Gardner loses in a land slide.  I hope Hickenlooper and the Dems can put some cohesive messaging together.

And there's the gerrymandering. And the voter suppression. And, if need be, the election officials who will "correct" the results as needed.

I am sure they are working on a plan to steal anything they can and burn anything they can't steal.

We've seen their playbook in Wisconsin and North Carolina.

I wouldn't bet $5 against Trump right now. Too many brain-dead Americans, too much GOP cheating.

Both sides are optimistic, but openly acknowledge that it won't be easy.  This seems about right to me, based on the current polling/reporting.

FTFA:
"It's going to be competitive, but you know a lot will depend on what the political environment looks like in three or four months and in this day and age it's really hard to predict that," said Sen. John Thune (S.D.), the No. 2 Republican senator.

It's going to look like this, you farking halfwit, what do you think this is going to do to your chances of changing the narrative from your incompetence, ignorance, and betrayal?

Voter fraud, interference from Russia and China, its a GOP tradition.

I saw something that might be in the wings. It appears people are using their pets to get absentee ballots and go to the media ie. breitbart. It looks like the beginning of another prong of attack of mail in voting.

Don't be surprised it this starts making the memes and the rounds. Desperate times call for desperate measures, I guess. Every little bit counts?

A bit more. It is rare and won't work for the ballot but the propaganda value is what they need. All they need is a ballot with the name Rover on it to crow.

In 2007, a woman in Washington State successfully registered her dog to vote and received ballots in order to make a point about the system's risks. But in 2016, officials in King County said, another person tried to register a dog to vote. The registration was not fully approved because the information did not match records in state and federal databases.

You might wanna understand what gerrymandering means before you post about the Senate...

These Senators are not idiots.  The idiots are the voters who re-elect them.

I was commenting on Republican tactics in general. The tactics that are the only reasons, besides the question of evil, that the Republican Party is relevant in the 21st century.

You'll note that I said nothing of the Senate.
