A union representing 750 Disney World performers on Thursday accused the company of retaliation after the group demanded workers be tested for COVID-19 upon the resort reopening.

I had to read this a few times to unpack it, but it sounds like the union is demanding that Disney test all its workers.  Confusing paragraph. Should have specified who "group" was.

I just can't do this joke again this year.

I'm thinking the group (Actors' Equity) wants universal testing for all the employees. This would be in line with SAG-AFTRA's stance (see the various stop work orders out there). If a Grip, Best Boy, or Make up artist came up positive, it could spread to the whole production.

Yes, that's what I'm understanding too.  Sounds reasonable.  Disney might be short-sightedly weighing the costs of testing against the loss of business if they get a reputation for the most Covid-y Place on Earth.

I have successfully stopped myself from making a joke about losing your grip.

You're welcome, farkers.

There's a story floating around out there about how, during the years when Michael Eisner was CEO, the employees of Disney's animation division started referring to it as "Mouseschwitz."  Of course, management was furious and sent out a memo forbidding employees from using that term.  So they simply switched over to "Duckau."

That's a bummer.  My childhood memories of going there were so much fun (except one). Got to ride Pirates of the Caribbean a couple times in a row one evening.  Saw my first quality masks there. I still want the Zorn mask.

I've heard the term applied to WDW.
