In these times of delicate misunderstandings, Americans should ask of them selves a few questions.

1. Are you having a polite discussion about race because of something the president of the united states said?
2. Are you having an argument about race because of something the president of the united states said?
3. Why would you argue about anything as inane as the color of a person's skin?
4. Why would the president of the united states say anything that would trigger anything other than a polite discussion about race?
5. How can you, as an American, a member of a nation built by humans of all walks of life, of all color, creed, nationality, and origin, even begin to consider anything other than a person's worth as a neighbor and a friend?
We all contribute and lend a hand to our communities when we can. Unless we are only in anything for the money, which would not make us people who make any contribution to our society.

I had heard someone on the radio say that in some ways Trump's election was good for America, because it brought the festering racism to the front and center and exposed the racists for all to see.  I guess that's a silver lining.  Tarnished, but silver nonetheless.

I've followed politics for a long time - and I have never, in my life, to my recollection, observed a POTUS with so much influence on some Americans behavior.

Maybe I just haven't noticed it before because every other president in my recollection has been fairly "normal" (I know - that's a really subjective term). Maybe others emulated Obama's reserve, W's bulls*** folksy country Crawford, or Clinton's Bubba-esque charm and I just never noticed, idk

What I do know is that I have been f***ing appalled at watching otherwise "respectable", "normal" people by all other societal standards, debate themselves and their society with their seemingly Trump-enabled behavior.

No honest man would say "they're doctors, they're lawyers" is a claim that every person in the group is simultaneously a doctor and a lawyer. Even a competently dishonest man wouldn't expect that by becoming louder and more insulting he could cause someone else to lose the ability to understand conversational English. Is your idea that behaving aggressively towards people who point out the obvious will intimidate others into going along with your line of nonsense?

I'm looking for it in my feed, but a black woman in Venice took a metal clothesline to the face while bike riding. White dude holding the line says, "That's what you get for being black."  She's got a pic of the mark across her face and the guy yelling at her, so the story seems legit. 

And there's a bunch of others. And this is middle of Los Angeles, SoCal! Not like this is a hotbed of KKK activity. . .*sigh*
