Does it involve a toothless man with a Kid Rock neck tattoo and wearing a Gardner Minshew jersey and out of his mind on Krokodil while trying to race a Jet Ski in a Publix lobster tank?

The Republican National Convention was moved to Jacksonville from Charlotte, N.C., because there would be fewer restrictions.

Far from the first state to fail due to its leader choosing to sacrifice his subjects to satisfy his delusions and his own ego, however.

Try not extending the right to vote to the kind of 'people' who fawn over malignant narcissists next time, folks.

The only similar historical equivalent that I can think of is when the Abbasids listened to that dumbass Al-Ghazali and deliberately closed their lands to scientific thinking and literacy under a policy of "Make Islam Great Again".

One could say that Islam has yet to recover from such insulating fundamentalism.

But Silver said he wasn't sure what the threshold would be to cancel the remainder of the season that's supposed to resume July 30.

How about the point at which players injured during games will not be able to receive medical treatment because the hospitals are full of Covid-19 patients?

The only thing worse than that is if players injured during games are able to receive medical treatment even when all of the hospitals are full of Covid-19 patients. That would play really well in the PR department.

I knew this was going to happen.  The moment they opened back up, everyone was out and about with no mask.  People were acting like Covid just disappeared.

What DeSantis doesn't realize is that when the numbers skyrocket in retirement communities here in Florida and the bodies start piling up, Trumpy will throw him under the bus. You watch. "That governor from Florida, whats his name? He farked up the reopening. I told him to be cautious with the elderly population, but he wouldn't listen."

According to a New York Times analysis, Florida has had the second worst outbreak in the world in the last seven days, trailing only Arizona.

The problem with that is that both the relatively sane people and completely delusional lunatics have two different ideas about what a "malignant narcissist" looks like.  And the crazies would eagerly put your idea into practice to smash the relatively sane contingent into dust, and long before the sane ones did.  Permanently.

If you replace the crescent with a cross, and used a text editor to replace every instance of "Allah" and "Muhammad " with "God" and "Jesus," most rightwing Evangelicals would have remarkably little problem with the Koran, Islam and Sharia.

You know. I'm not going to sit here and defend the early NY or media response to this because it was farked up and wrong (which I thought at the time, but I was an "early adopter" that this was going to be a big deal).

I was also uncomfortable with the blase way people waved away the risk of protests during the early BLM (although we now seem to know that being outside, even in large groups, isn't that risky as long as basic precautions are taken; heck, they're now saying that going to crowded beach probably isn't a big deal).

But if you are STILL trying to deny or downplay what is going on on July 9, 2020, there is something wrong with you. That's what DeSantis, the Trump administration, the right wing media, and much of the MAGA crowd are doing.

Hell, a good counter-example to this line is the UK. Early on Boris and the Tories seemed to be going the denial route, and then they course-corrected. They had a rougher time than much of the rest of the EU, but now their cases rate has collapsed and they're nearly back in line with them.

Much would have been forgiven had Trump, his lackies, and his propaganda arm bothered to change course and take this seriously. But they didn't.

So fark you with your attempt to muddy the waters.

Large parts of California came out of lock down too soon, largely because the federal government won't actually take the actions necessary to allow lock downs of the length required to crush the pandemic.

I suspect that the GOP hoped this would only cause mass extermination of non-whites and that wealth would be a barrier to viruses also, and god's hand would protect his chosen WASPs.   The Christian right zombies still believe that America is the chosen land of their god.

Some gods do approve of Covid-19 and the radical reactionary GOP, I'm sure.

Every epidemiologist I've heard talk about this says that deaths lag by six weeks from infection spikes.

Luckily it seems that doctors are starting to learn from grim experience how to increase the odds of survival for patients in ICUs but it's mathematically inevitable more people are going to die from these explosive increases in cases.

I think 1,100 people died just yesterday nationwide.
