He finally got his super bowl, but he's got a very young and very talented QB, as well as quite the powerhouse of a team.  He's got that job as long as he wants it.  And I assume he'll want it for many years to come.

Assuming he doesn't die of a heart attack first.  That dude is so freaking huge, it scares me.

Kansas City has no quarterback?

I remember when Tom Brady took over for Drew Bledsoe. I never thought that Tom was a great QB back then, heaven knows that Bledsoe could throw the ball all the way downfield all day long. What Brady did was be a better field manager. Bledsoe threw too many interceptions; he made the worst decisions at the most crucial times. Brady didn't have the physical skills but he kept the team in the game and gave them a chance to win.

If there is an NFL season, I'm curious to see what Belichick can do with Cam if Cam stays healthy. I think the Pats success all these years is on Belichick, with Brady going along with the program until he got sick of it.

If Andy Reid does not lose some weight then he might not live to the end of the contract.

I think you are correct.  As much some Brady fans would reasonably disagree, it'd be pretty hard to argue that Belichick would have had much less success with everything the same and "a Drew Brees" or "a Steve Young" (adjusted for age) leading the team on the field under Hoodie for all these years.

Of course, those are cherry-picked top QBs, so this is not saying TB was not significant and could have been replaced by just any Patrick Ramsey or J.P. Losman and made the Patriots a dynasty

However, it is saying that TB could never have been as successful with a different head coach - even a cherry-picked top head coach.

You need the quarterback and the offensive playbook with efficiency and vitality.  Reid and Mahomes are a great combo.
They just need the defense, responsible salary cap management, with good drafting and free agency acquisitions, coaching players up, and playcalling to fit the level of preparedness.
After that it's really easy!

Expounding on this, I'd say TB's greatest attribute was discipline. Belichick could develop the best game plan possible, but if he didn't have someone on the field to execute it precisely then it doesn't matter. Brady was pure focus, even in the highest stakes situations. He did his job in the game plan exactly as intended with no room for improvisation. A quarterback who can do that game after game for years without letting his ego get in the way is near impossible to find. After 6 rings and 20 years,he probably wants to break out of that mold and see what he can do outside of that type of system.

Regardless, Mahomes has much better skill sets than Brady, and working on the fly suits him better. Add that to Andy Reid's coaching ability and it's a tremendous combination.
