America can print trillions of dollars to pump up Wall Street's numbers for a bit, but had to be relentlessly badgered to give one month's rent to a certain percentage of American citizens during a farking pandemic.

Laissez-faire capitalism is evil, pure and simple.

Good. Once the economy comes crashing down, the working class will either a) start rioting, b) start eating the 1 precenters or c) burn the country down.

Once the economy crashes, the political system, thankfully, will not be far behind.

I imagine the eventual rent evictions are going to push the new homeless into the streets, and into the protests.

That, or we're about to see squatting become the new American popular thing to do.

Well this all falls into the category of we're going to bankrupt the country if it is not already bankrupt and the next Democrat President can fix it because that is always the historical case and in a few years we'll have another Republican President who can repeat the cycle.

Don't be surprised if it's held up until the day after the election. Democrats have already pulled the "doesn't go far enough" scheme to make sure no police reform can happen under after the election. Don't think they won't hold your check up. Crisis feeds the left and they've farking hungry these days.

It's not Democrats holding it up.  The Democratically controlled house already passed the stimulus, and it was bumped up to the Senate immediately afterward.

Blaming anybody but McConnel for its delay is pure, unabashed, dishonesty.

getting unemployment from the state

that runs out in a few weeks
she won't return to work for like 6 months

Sweet summer child.
Read about the Gospel of Prosperity.  MAGA followers won't blame the 1%, they will blame coastal elitist snobs who sent their jerbs to China and forced coal out of business because they needed to make climate change appear real.  In their panic expect severe cuts to social security, block grants to Medicaid, and all sorts of other bad things.
Now, a stimulus for those who reported an individual or joint tax return for 2019 under $40,000 is an interesting number. What this will do is exclude most blue state residents.
Congress knows what they need to do to solve the COVID-19 crisis, mass testing on an insane scale and contact tracing.  Instead they are pretending we just hit a small economic bump and are gambling that the experts are morons.

Well, as COVID-19 hits the sunbelt very "nicely and strongly", I have the expectation that I will not need to be subsidizing those rural areas with my tax dollars much longer.
I'm just angry rural Covididiots from Arizona, AKA Magaland, are being airlifted to NorCal public hospitals which is paid for by my local, and county taxes. Rural Arizonians can pray away the disease, they voted for this.

I know that there are no trolls on Fark, so this is more of a general thought, but ... what does it take to be a troll right now?  When things are this bad?  To spend your time being an asshole on the internet just because you enjoy riling people up, knowing you're doing so at the expense of people's already frail states of mind?  Knowing that marginalized people are already exhausted from having been marginalized their whole lives AND having to deal with this virus AND enduring the economic fallout from a government that refuses to help us AND witnessing week after week after week of police brutalizing Americans in the streets, Americans they are likely among?

I just don't know what it's like to be the kind of person who can ignore all that just to upset some people on the internet.  I don't know what it's like to be someone who is so entertained by other's anger and suffering that they would willingly and willfully do that.  I don't think I'll ever know.

Going to be rough when a neighbor or a group comes knocking at your door asking for food but they don't leave when you can't help them because you are in the same boat but since you got a house still, they don't believe you.

You don't even have to go back that far. After the 2008 financial crisis was over, tens of thousands of homeowners were technically squatting in properties that were defaulted on. Took years to get that under control.

$1,000,000,000,000 / 330,000,000=
$3,030 per person

is $3030 enough for a person out of work due to the coronavirus to get by?  Enough for them to eat, pay rent, utilities, credit card or student loan payments? Not even kinda.

That's why they're not sending checks, because it's such a hassle to get mail to all those homeless people.  See, it's not evil, it's just laziness.
