Given Trump's rhetorical trajectory, they probably suspect that every remaining speaker is going to be playing to an audience of one, and thus trying to out-wingnut everyone else. Get ready for Tiki torches playing hateful firelight off of maskless faces; this is going to make CPAC look like a meeting of the Comintern in comparison.

An aide for Collins noted that she was never planning to attend the GOP convention because she does not go when she herself is up for reelection

That's pretty God damned convenient if you ask me.

I think we'll see a continuous stream of fellation, starting with the My Pillow guy and Mike Pence giving Donald a blowie to open the ceremonies.

Throw Missouri Governor Parsons in there too - he was slobbering all over Trump's mushroom yesterday

I don't know which would be better...They threw the great big in-person party and no one showed up?  Or that they threw the big in-person party, everyone got sick, and ended up in the hospital...or possibly a third option, they spend all the money to get the convention set up, and then get shut down because of insufficient safety precautions...and lose all their deposits...

We could potentially get two out of those three....*crosses fingers

Right now, someone at the WH is trying to figure out how to blame the threat of BLM for low attendance at the convention, to get the bigots foaming at the mouth, but w/o making the president seem weak for not getting a handle on those uppity protesters.

They've already tossed a $48 million investment in Charlotte and the big donors are too interested in giving to another doomed party.

Their idiot base is willing to do it, but actual Senators aren't going to risk their lives for Donald farking Trump.

They tried that with Tulsa but got laughed at because the outside of the arena was literally empty

That's pretty God damned convenient if you ask me.

Some quick googling revealed that she's at least consistent.  She did and said the same thing in 1996 and 2008.

Almost sounds like a principled stance, doesn't it?  Of course you have to ask how many times "GOP convention" and "Collins re-election" campaign have coincided.

/Once?  The McCain crapfest, maybe?

Therefore, the RNC National Convention will be the ultimate purity and loyalty test.

THAT WOULD MAKE TRUMPY SAD.

No, please proceed to have your convention with LOTS of party faithful packed into a small space. Remember: This is all a demonrat hoax despite what that cowardly deep state RINO Grassley has said.

It's a cheap campaign ploy since it only happens once every twelve years.
