maybe they can run it right after "Easy Money" which is now playing everywhere.

They got the idea from an episode of Dukes of Hazzard:

An out of town crime-boss lady named Helen Hogan comes to Hazzard with a "rolling casino," a semi-truck with a full blown casino in the trailer. Bo & Luke take a job for her as drivers to gain money to repair the General Lee, not knowing she's a crook. Boss Hogg realizes what they've done and hopes to cash in on the casino action while simultaneously putting the Dukes behind bars. An old friend of Jesse's gets swindled by the evil casino, thus forcing the Dukes to illegally right a moral wrong. Cooter drives the General. Hijinks ensue.

In any other year I'd disagree. But there won't be all that many good movies coming out this year

kelsey grammer, denise richards, joey lawrence and some random wrestler...

i know 90s nostalgia is big these days, but this would've been garbage if it was actually done in the 90s when they were relevant

perpetually mugging (and slumming) Kelsey Grammer

"Slumming", because Kelsey's been in such high brow projects up until now.

Hey, Money Train worked for Woody Harrelson...

/And Wesley Snipes
//And J-Lo
///And Robert Blake

You can pull something like that off if you don't take yourself too seriously. And they needed to fark-source their dialog first. Everyone knows that.

Damn, I remember that. As a kid, for a few days following watching that I was fascinated by that episode. I was looking at trucks on the street thinking of the possibility of a secret club inside the trailer.

Miami Vice caused me to spend my childhood imagining that every Mercedes had Uzis stashed under the seats.

Good!

a) It's "covid19" 2020 - a deserted wasteland with regards to movie releases
b) Kelsey Grammer is an erudite high-shine turd polish for low-brow dreck films like this
c) We need future fodder for MST3K reboot 3.2. More dumb-chum for the water

Stop looking at the gift-horse's teeth, folks.

Ok he played an intellectual in a comic book movie. He was still in Down Periscope where the only things high brow were Lauren Holley's boobs.

That Money Plane exists as an actual feature is a depressing commentary on movie-industry idiocy, if also some sort of wacko testament to those who both concocted it, and then wheeled-and-dealed it into cinematic reality.

No, that lowered-bar reached it's nadir in the mid 2000's during the Jason Friedberg/Aaon Seltzer years when 20th Century Fox let Idiocracy gather dust on the shelves but gave wide release and full marketing campaigns to shiat like Meet the Spartans.

The studio bigwigs had faith in the box office viability of Epic Movie, which had an audio track for its video release that added extra farts throughout the movie, but when it came to movie that mocked stupid bathroom humor like that, they snuck that into a handful of theaters and only out of contractual obligation.

Yeah, those "____ MOVIE " movies are the worst films ever .made (I'm obviously not including child porn or Adam Sandler movies that don't include Drew Barrymore).

I saw the trailer for this ...this...movie? And it looked like some Guy With The Glasses parody trailer on You Tube. Does Grammer need the money? What dafuq, man. The rest of the dirtbags debasing themselves are not even worth mentioning.

Kelsey Grammer as Beast/Hank McCoy was one of the few redeeming things about X3.

I couldn't believe just how crappily they were written.

Most people watching Airplane today would miss how much of it was riffing on the Airport movies. All the passenger interactions, like a little boy sitting next to a girl, the boy going into the cockpit, the air hostess playing the guitar to the girl in a hospital bed. That's all straight from Airport, except they twisted it (while doing it deadpan). "Are you a doctor?".

"Airplane!"was based on a movie called "Zero Hour", to the point where they actually had to buy the rights to the film. I never saw it but it didn't matter. "Airplane!" is still my favorite comedy film, even without getting the references.

The "(Whatever) Movie " movies completely depend on you getting the references to the movies or TV shows they're trying to parody. And everyone is an idiot, where in "Airplane!", almost everyone is played straight while the crazy shiat happens around them.
