White women voted at a 52 percent clip for Donald Trump. Men voted at 63 percent.

Those number are embarrassing. And they won't change much this time. Garbage in, garbage out.

Speak for yourself author. I'm not feeling anything at this point. I told friends in Nov 2016 that America would learn what it's been like to live as a minority in this country. The worry, the stress, the angst. To date, Trump's America has lived up to exactly what I thought it would be.

Now, I don't know if there's enough people scared shiatless to end this nightmare in November, but I honestly hope so. If not, I'll continue to watch the shiatshow as it goes on. Living almost 30 years in Alabama as a black man gave me some very thick skin and very good perception skills. I'll just keep on truckin' and protecting those I love and care about.

I've actually noticed a lot of "troll fatigue" here on fark.

You got these one shot trolls putting out bait on multiple threads and they're not getting many hits. Like posting a thread and then posting something trolly in the comments. Expecting lots of hits...and everyone seems to be ignoring them. They probably need another cat to give them attention.

Sad.

Maybe after four years some people will see 45 for what he is. Also, some 8% of African-Americans voted for Trump and I just don't see that happening again, assuming they are allowed to vote. Plus the Hispanic Republican vote has to go down too, no?

Then the question becomes, has 45 cut any inroads with the white vote? It's hard to see white women supporting him more. Now, white men. Shiat. Yeah, most of us are shiatheads but there is a sizable contingent on non-shiathead white males who would never vote for him. I just don't see Trump improving on his 2016 numbers.

Alot has been made of the "white angst" bring related to the process you describe - "learning how minorities live". They call it economic angst, but whatever.

What has been pointed out by many to discredit 'economic angst' argument is the complete absence of batshiat behavior among POC who have suffered economic hardships as, well - usually worse - since 2008.

The phenomenon is real - the reactions are different.

I think this is the second time I've seen you post this in a thread, and I want to thank you for it.

I was 16 when Flood came out. First bought the LP, but then needed the cd for the car. I spun the crap out of that album. For years and years. That song (Racist Friend) is as fresh today as it was in 1990.  It's so simple. The music and the song.

But white folks are delusional. You guys act like you're exceptional. That the world revolves around your ignorance and indifference. And at the slightest hint that the world no longer wants to indulge you in your bullshiat, you snap.

Anything that goes against the current narrative that "white is right" and so therefore that makes the crazy, selfish, and stupid shiat y'all been doing for years all right, is being called out for what it is. Y'all are wrong. You were wrong to ignore the underlying current of racism that served as the backbone of your success, and you were wrong to allow white racists to put a senile, virulent racist in power. Now your crimes have come back to haunt you through Trump. He's doing what racists have always done: farking up shiat for everybody.

Intellectually lazy? As opposed to refusing to vote for the qualified candidate, because she reminded you of every "shrill" white woman you've ever known? Wow. Just...wow.

You guys have real estate in delusion. You're constantly writing your hands over crime in neighborhoods you don't live in, yet when it comes to fixing schools in those areas, and providing means to jobs and healthcare, you show us your empty pockets and biatch about how everybody is always taking shiat away from you.

You claim to have black friends, but only the "good ones," or those that work in service jobs. You love minorities, but only if they're dancing, singing, ballers, or cooking. I bet many of you have never worked under a black supervisor, or even have many black people at your jobs.

Thats what makes all this so maddening. You guys are perfectly content to just sit at, or near the top, while discreetly kicking those on the ladder below you off. And now you're being told to share. Not by the government you hate, yet have the free and unfettered access to vote for literally any candidate you want. A pandemic is forcing you to recognize how broken a system based on racism is. Yet you're still blaming your fellow citizens of color. Because to you, we're the reason why whitey moved jobs overseas. We're the reason why you haven't had a raise in two years. We're the reason why this country is falling apart, even though it was mainly whites who actively voted for, and supported Trump.

Cognitive dissonance isn't some "benign" disorder. It's active, powerful and ugly. You love our music and athletes, but hate us as a whole.

So no, the original poster wasn't being lazy. You are.

Yeah, no, they are farking scared. Don't get me wrong. Some of them believe in the nonsense being spewed and think all polls lie blah blah blah. But the rest of them are terrified that their beloved President, the one who is making America Great Again, is going to be a one term President. These people aren't THAT farking stupid. Rather its kind of like being in a relationship where you know the other person is toxic. At some point your rational brain kicks in tells you a lot of things just aren't rights. But the sex is really good (in this case for Trump this bashing against liberals is too good) and you just don't know how to leave without making yourself look bad.

When you think you're all that and lose it all, then your reactions are going to be very different from someone who's never had anything to begin with.

This is the very crux of the "economic anxiety" so many white people profess to be experiencing. The "anxiety" is from an entire lifetime - generations - of always being first in line for all that society has to offer, with only other white people to compete with. Those that have had and see it going away will react differently than those who never had, get, then lose it.... or who never get.

That's why we never see the type of insanity like voting for a con man/huckster/liar/failed game show host as president of the united states manifesting itself among PoC. It's as if white peoples socioeconomic shift - embodied by president Obama's two terms in the white house - has driven them out of their f'king minds.

PoC - especially Black people - have always had real economic anxiety, only to us it's called "life".

It's an inability to analyze the reality of the situation; that the vast majority of white people will lose nothing by realizing the equality and equity that this country professes to stand for.  Diversity has made us a better, richer society and actualizing the promise of equality and equity will do the same.  Too many white people are sure that they are the next person to have wealth and power and think that keeping "others" down somehow keeps the path open, but reality says that's a lie, because 1) we have an overarching class problem and 2) luck is a huge factor in every aspect of life and only so many people will ever be wealthy and powerful.  Fixing the issues that are at the heart of systemic racism will actually enable improvements in the lives of most people, it's just that black and other communities of color will benefit disproportionately, just as they have suffered disproportionately.  It's a damned correction, not special treatment, and many people need to get that through their thick heads.
