Hey watch the hand, Dad. What are you, Donald Trump?

When my daughter was 5 the local park district had a Cinderella dance. All the little girls wore their favorite princess dresses and the dads wore suits. As we danced, our daughters standing on the tops of our shoes, I looked around the room and there wasn't a dry eye on any of the dads. We could all picture someday dancing at our daughters' wedding.

My Paw Paw didn't get to walk my aunt (she was being a twatwaffle) or mom down the aisle, so he walked me halfway down the aisle, and my dad the other half. Paw Paw was in tears the whole time. Man, I miss him so much. Lost him 4 years ago, and my Maw Maw a little over 5 ago.

My Maw Maw couldn't travel to the wedding (bad arthritis), and, when I was a kid, she would always threaten to ride her broomstick over, and get me if I misbehaved... or wear a coconut bikini to the pool, if my aunt and I didn't behave... so... I got a broomstick, witch's hat, coconut bra, and a grass hula skirt, and everyone carried Maw Maw around all day at the wedding.

Here he is blowing her a kiss. (I printed and framed a copy of this for Maw Maw, and she kept it right by her seat)

That is beautiful. You were lucky to have them. It looks like they were lucky to have you too.

They were like my parents. I spent every summer, every school break, at their house. My aunt and I are 7 months apart in age, so we grew up together. Every time I'd go back to Ohio, Paw Paw and I would go to the park, at dawn, and take pictures. Then, we'd go for breakfast :) I held his hand as he died, and told him we'd be ok, and that I loved him. And, man, is Mr. Bobug like Paw Paw. Granted, I'm just like Maw Maw :)

I'm sorry for your loss. I hope that what some people say is true and you get to see them again one day.

Thanks :) I know I'm incredibly lucky to have had them. I hope everyone is that lucky, at least once in life.

That was me a few years ago.

The father/daughter dance was even harder.
