Are cruises still happening right now?   I kinda figured they were all cancelled but now I'm curious.   You couldn't persuade me to take a cruise right now, but then again I was never into that lifestyle.

You wouldn't be into being trapped on a boat with an enormous collection of annoying couples playing shuffleboard all day?

We scheduled a cruise in December back when all of this was still new and localized to China and didn't seem like it was that big a deal. I enjoyed the last one I was on and the girlfriend wanted to scratch it off her bucket list.

Cancelled it around Feb when that first cruise ship in Japan got stuck off shore. Waited the 10 business days for a refund and nothing happened. Called asking what the hell, and the poor customer service rep who had probably had angry people yelling at them all day, informed me that Carnival has put all refunds on indefinite hold and I was SOL.

Took it to my bank and won my dispute 3 months later. I guess what I'm saying is Carnival probably isn't going to survive this. I know they have Disney money backing them but I can't imagine they aren't just hemorrhaging cash right now with no end in sight.

I've been on one cruise - 1 week windjammer, Aruba/Bonaire/Curacao.  Old whaling boat, less than 100 passengers, and I was off the boat at least 3 days for scuba excursions.  And I still wanted to kill people by the end of the trip.

I love being trapped on the hotel grounds, with a remote possibility of drowning, and a very real possibility of getting sick AF. Sign me up

You mean the Corona Spreader of the Seas won't be leaving port? That's awful...

my best friend and i we're going on a river cruise in germany, the beer and castles one and we were supposed to depart on march 22nd.  The cruise line went radio silent for a few days, then offered the bullshiat 125% credit towards another booking.  They finally refunded anyone who wanted their money back (me).

I've been on boats but never a cruise so i was okay trying the river one but i will def never be booking another cruise.

Side note, one of our good friends is in the travel business, one that specializes in cruises she thinks her company will be out of business before the end of the year.

April: Okay, no more cruises for awhile.

July: Now that virus is actually increasing in the US, let's cruise again!
