NHL still has a smattering of honor left. Other pro sports in America .... not so much.

Honestly, this, and the NBA, soccer leagues and any other league that would've finished a month ago, should just call the season off.

They're not going to sacrifice any more income than they've already lost. If they can safely execute some semblance of season or playoffs, they're going to do it.

So wait, training camp starts July 13. Teams report to HUB July 26 and games start Aug 1? No 14 day quarantine in Canada? This will end well.

You can't threaten a strike or lockout if there is no hockey anyway.

See how easy it is to negotiate when both sides lose their most potent weapon.

This, I'd rather have sat this period out, get on with a new plan for the coming season and go from there

Offer has never been and never will be valid for Jeremy Jacobs.

Bettman actually avoiding a lockout?  Yeah that has to be one of the seven seals.

The Trudeau government had already said they wouldn't enforce the quarantine, provided the NHL got agreements from local health authorities.

Look I'll post in the socially distant fark threads about hockey if/while it happens, but put me down for

"We probably shouldn't be doing this"

Jeremy Jacobs, Bruins owner and the reason why there were 2 lockouts, must not be in good health.

This whole "resume the season" is ignorant at best. I saw an estimated schedule the other day that said game 1 of the final should be the first week of December.

Training camp/preseason usually starts in September and the season the first week of October.

So IF the league restarts, 7 teams won't play for over 11 months. The teams knocked out in the first round, 8 or 9 months....

Reason 100000 why my favorite sport is the Barney Fife of sports. They will find anyway possible to shoot themselves in the foot.

Eddie Olczyk was on the radio today in Chicago - he was saying that he doesn't see the next season starting until after the new year begins.

Good. A fourth lockout under Gary Bettman would not be cool.

Technically, there was a work stoppage...

Where are you seeing that? Every schedule I've seen shows the SC Finals ending late September/early October, then a 2-month break for draft/free agency, with the next season starting late December/early January.
