Beautiful.

Maybe he can assign Rick Scott to figure out how to defraud Medicare when people need to pay for their vaccine.

Oh what a surprise.
I bet none of the billions of tax dollars assigned to this project will end up in his or Trump's pocket.

In a statement to The Daily Beast, Health and Human Services spokesperson Michael Caputo defended Slaoui from accusations that he'd acted unethically: "Any allegation that Dr. Moncef Slaoui lied to Congress is blatantly false, defamatory per se and begging for legal action, so you should probably lawyer up."

It's always about strong-arming and lawsuits with these pieces of shiat, isn't it?

This is why, even if we do get a vaccine sooner than later, I'm not sure I'll take it. I don't trust anyone Trump has put in charge of anything Covid.

Mola has the Thuggies working overtime on this, Donald, sit back and relax. As Kali Ma is my witness, we'll have a vaccine by the fall.

Players only love you when your playing.

Trump only loves those who are even more ruthless and grabby than His Precious. Roy Cohn is his ideal of a man, as well as a lawyer.

How is that even possible?

It's like re-releasing "Smell the Glove," in Dobly, with a blacker album cover.

I expect that sort of talk from mid-level POS wanna-be crime lords.  From a cabinet agency spokesperson?  WT actual F? HHS isn't going to bring a defamation suit, so why on early would an HHS spokesperson ever say something that blatantly stupid?  Aside from it being such a stupid statement on its face. Ugh.

When is November happening?

Even if he does absolutely nothing wrong on this (yeah, not likely), people are going to understandably mistrust anything he works on. The whole "well, we farked up on everything else, but we can still solve the Covid crisis via vaccine" strategy only works if enough people are willing to take the vaccine to achieve herd immunity. This is about the worst person you can have spearheading this thing, given that his mere presence is going to lower that vaccination%.

...not to be confused with the terraformed version of the planet later in the series which had its name shortened to "Rakis". While not a swamp, it had large bodies of water and was full of flora.

edmo: Where does he find these people?

He didn't.   They found him. They knew he was a grifting con artist with both a deficit of intellect and enough greed that he wouldn't pose a problem as long as he got a cut of the action, and the economically conservative "small government:" wing of the GOP would back them up for the same reason.  And the ideological segment of the GOP doesn't care as long as they get a socially conservative bone tossed their way from time to time and a shiatton of conservative judges.

In short, they knew the executive branch was going to be  crewed by the dumb, greedhead criminal of their dreams, and they came out of the woodwork to join up.

No apologies. The longer it's stuck in my head, the more I move from "eh, I've had worse" through "I need to rewatch that, and listen to the old radio shows" to "I wonder if that's on Spotify."  ; )

< now would be the perfect time for a link to a rickroll if I were inclined to go old school, but I am lazy >
