It's not a dangerous animal. I have rabbits and coyotes in this neighborhood, I don't fark with either because they manage each other and my weeds. Do they have a problem with too many woodchucks because they don't have the predators?

Given the location, I suspect a dairy farm.  Woodchucks dig holes for their dens, which can cause broken bovine legs.
