Simon & Schuster published the back cover of the book for the first time on Monday. It is an excerpt of Mary's writing, stating that "today, Donald is much as he was at three years old: incapable of growing, learning, or evolving, unable to regulate his emotions, moderate his responses, or take in & synthesize information."

Unfortunately, that describes a pretty large subset of American voters too.

No subby, everything with Trump is "too weak".  Close though, I can understand the confusion.

More attention for D2S. He'll hate this book.

This grand narcissist is incapable of actually giving a shiat. The world to him is either cheering him on or just feeding him material to gobble and regurgitate with the same tired wharbgarble from the last couple of decades.

Character assassination doesn't work on someone who proudly has no character.

The book portrays the president as a "damaged man" with "lethal flaws" who "threatens the world's health, economic security, and social fabric," the publisher described on its website.

Uh, don't most sane people already know this? You need a bombshell, hon, if it's gonna pique interest.

Based on the back cover there is no new information....

But I am hoping that is not the case

I appreciate this book, if only because Impeached President Trump is desperate to quash it, but honestly, there will be a day in the future after which I will never hear the name "Trump" again, and that day can't come soon enough.

// Never playing bridge again, either. Hell, if someone says the word "trumpet," they'd best say that second syllable quickly or I shall smite them.

Trump loves the attention and the GOP isn't complaining either. Something else to distract from the idiocy du jour.

The bounties on our soldiers seems to have faded away around the 4th of all times. I wonder how minor the distraction would've needed to be if it broke the week before Memorial or Veteran's Day?

Many of the slightly smarter (and therefore by necessity more delusional) Republican voters have tried to play off his behaviour as 5d chess. A performance to 'stick it to the Libs'. From everything we've heard about the book so far it would demonstrate it's not an act. This is just who he is.

Of course those people are so delusional in the first place they'll probably come up with some deep state nonsense to justify it, but maybe it will reach a few of them.

Either way, should be some useful info for historians and psychologists in there.

I'm part of a growing effort to re-establish "trumpery" into common use, meaning showy but worthless.  I'm also trying to get his name widely used as a more polite term for a basic bodily function.  As in, "I'm sorry I'm late, I had to take a wicked trump."

Life imitating Art, The Trump Years. Somehow the two pictures -- The Picture of Donald J Trump -- got reversed. The hidden picture became the public face . . . and the public face became hidden. Oscar Wilde is beside himself, "This is wrong, very, very wrong."

Olympic Trolling Judge: That NDA worked well.

Apparently, Mary counter-filed and said that the NDA was invalid from the get-go because it was predicated on a fraudulent claim. Trump did his thing and over-estimated the Fred Trump Sr. estate in the estate filings to make it look good to the inheritors and undervalued it for NY estate tax filings at the same time. Trump challenges this, there's going to be lots of documents coming out in discovery showing a pattern of Trump Over/Under valuing properties to his benefit. Documents that get put into the legal record and the SDNY can then have access to in order to bring about charges of Tax Fraud and Commercial Banking Fraud. Of course, once the book is published, it can also spur an SDNY investigation into the same charges.

In so many words, Trump is very likely farked in a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' sort of way.

After reading the rear cover they posted online, all I could think of is how my dad was deprived of his mother (TB, sanitarium) for over a year when he was 4 yrs old, his father worked all the time and ignored him when he got home every night, yet somehow my dad didn't turn into a broken human being (and in fact spent his life saving children in his pediatric practice).

If your dad was a pediatrician, he was probably intelligent enough to use the tools of self reflection to actively modify his behaviour for the better. If a moron like Trump is abused and neglected during childhood, they're not going to have the ability to work their way out unless there's intervention from a third party. Trump's also a freakish edge case where he happened to have access to enough money and power from the start that his lack of intelligence and emotional stability didn't impede him like it would for 99/100 of those of similar abilities.

Except he was warning of the masses deciding the President, instead of the capitalist owner class doing so.

Doesn't apply here - Trump wasn't made President by The People, he was installed via the Electoral College, one of the mechanisms by which the capitalist owner class overrule democracy.

His argument is the same one that's always used to argue against voting access - for women, for minorities, for non property owners, it's always "we can't let those people have a say. They'll make all the wrong decisions"

Which is really just a form of [Why it would be a bad idea to do anything that inconveniences rich white assholes_by some rich asshole.png]

I saw that. I am glad.

I have the book on pre-order, so I only have to wait another eight days, which for the French is a week. (They include both the start day and the end day in their "huit jours", which is typically French logic, slightly different from everybody else but it sort of makes perfect sense).

Yes we know he is corrupt and a moron.

However, we need all the specific details and timelines we can get, because that will give us decent people more and more ammo against him.

2020-07-06 11:08:53 PM
I suppose it's nice to have more facts out and in the open.

Will this cause SDNY to investigate and bring charges? Not once Barr is done with the office. Not while Trump is still in office.

Will this cause a single individual to vote against Trump in November? I don't know. Depending on the book's reception and Trump's campaign management of that reception, it could fire up Trump voters' persecution complex.

If we survive through January and Biden is President, then we'll see. I sincerely hope that there will be no "healing" and moving on this time around. Not without everyone involved investigated to their eyeballs, prosecuted where appropriate, and jailed where appropriate.

tldr; Vote!
