Will get lit up before heading down there so as to save money at the beer garden

Hook up a generator to the beer taps and you'll be able to power Scootland for a year.

I really miss the beer in England and Scotland. It just doesn't travel well to the states, and bottles and cans don't taste the same as a good pint at the pub. Nice pint of bitter, so good. I hardly drink anymore, but if I went back to England, first thing I'd do is get a pint.

Is Lilt still made in England? I rarely get bad hangovers, but after a night of many pints, I found that soda to be very refreshing. In the US, when Coke made the non-diet version of Fresca, that was close. Since article is about Scotland, I'm off to the tubes to watch Irn-Bru commercials.

If only there was a way for people to acquire alcohol in some sort of portable container that would allow them to take it home and consume it there...

Of course it will end as well as it did in London. And don't call me Shirley.

I'm waiting for the reports in the US after the 4th celebrations. So 7 to 14 days from then should be eye opening.

The Scots will get pissed and as tradition dictates, unleash their drunken fury on their ancient implacable foe, the Scots.

We decided to try luck with zoo today since outdoors and they had timed tickets for entry/multiple rule setups and as members so we figured easy to bail if it sucks.

Still a cluster fark, about 20 percent in masks. In wide spaces, sure people would space out some but as soon as it was smaller area, people were squeezing together or getting up close to move a line along. Given room, you were either going to get a quick peek of an animal or get stuck with risk of a big family just immediately coming up. Sucked the fun out of it and doesn't make me have a good feeling for July

Anybody ever had Buckfast? I'm guessing there's nothing like it in the U.S. or else we'd hear about it here.

It might not end well, but at least there's beer

No, but based on the stories about how awful it is supposed to be.... I kind of want to try it.

Lilt is still available here but since they're mostly sugar free (hard to find the sugar version, although not impossible), they taste like shiat.

London was farked up over the weekend. Months of pure bliss without having to listen to drunken morons screaming their heads off at 3am and now it's all 'back to normal'...

And the pratts across the road were having a large party with at least 25 people...

Me too. Or maybe watch somebody else try it first.

Weather was great today. It'll go back to shiate soon enough and those beer gardens will be empty.

Here in Michigan the Governor shut down the bars again... and a lawsuit will probably be soon to follow, as the MAGATS here can't stop themselves from filing silly lawsuits that will get thrown out of court because the Rethuglicans here forgot to make sure they had control of the courts before taking on the Demonrat in the Governor's office.

It's at least 14 days before we'll know how well we did.

I was in Ireland with some friends once and we had heard of this drink and asked a cabbie where to get it. He replied "Ah, you're after some rocket fuel!" He took us to find it. We woke up two days later.

There used to be a farker/TFer who was a cop in Scotland and described a "Glasgow Pub Quiz" thusly:
There are two questions, "You got a problem" and "What are you lookin at?" and all possible answers are wrong.

Csb? I was in Glasgow once. Didn't know about the rough reputation, was a bit naive really. Went to the UK a few weeks before term started and decided to see Scotland. Got to Glasgow, stayed in a youth hostel. Met a couple of Australians there, went out drinking at King Tut's WaWa Hut, there was a band playing. Had many beers, got back to the hostel about 20 minutes before curfew (the hostel's). Next morning, the Aussies I hung out with offered me a ride to Inverness. Had a great couple of weeks bouncing around Scotland. Stayed in a castle for a night. When I got back to the Uni at the start of term, people were surprised I went to Glasgow. Talked about all the violence and if you are wearing the wrong teams colors could get a Glasgow smile. The hostel was in a decent area and really didn't seem so bad to me. I had just planned a route from where I was going to school up to Scotland, hit some of the highlights (Loch Ness, Isle of Skye...), then travel back to England.

Late summer in Scotland was beautiful. I'd love to go back someday.

It is a little-known fact that, under Scottish law, all Nicola Sturgeon's public statements have to be accompanied by a man doing the birdie dance.
