Yea, I figured he'd just eventually jump and parachute and let the couch end up wherever it ended up.  Impressed that he stuck the landing like he did.

I have watched a few paragliding and wing suit videos, and they never seem to phase me.   But for some reason watching that gave me the total heebee geebees.

CordycepsInYourBrain: The lamp is a nice touch.

Yeah, I watched it two days ago when it originally appeared here, and I missed the lamp. I thought it was awesome when I saw it this time. Nice touch, indeed.

That's what I was thinking the entire time...one bad wind swirl and...there he goes.

It seemed like the "Take off" or whatever you call being pushed off that ledge at the begining probably had a high probability of that exact wind swirl straight wrecking him.

no helmet, no parachute on, no saftey restraints to stay in the seat of any kind.
I mean that's some right hold my beer and watch this, just on a more affluent budget.

By my eye the wing suit maker crowd, and the hold my beer bubbas, ain't no different at all, they just have access to different levels of resources for their shenanigans.
.

Obviously we're not professionals, so you can do this at home on your own too, as long as you have luck as good as we do.

Like I mentioned in yesterday's thread, I'm pretty sure he is attached, but it is hidden.  Probably a light harness hidden under his sweats/shirt.  Even a small frontal collapse (which happens all the time, even in calm conditions) and he's going for a fall.

Just like I'm pretty sure that the bag on his right contains a reserve parachute (along with his doritos).  Paragliders fly with quite a few precautions, and most pilots won't scrimp on them.  And most pilots won't let others fly without them either.  Accidents cause launch locations and airspace to get pulled.

And the day before that! And a few years ago! I must stop, I'm getting myself all frothed up. Old news really is soooo exciting.  Repeat repeat repeat repeat. And... looks like a really bad way to fark up a perfectly pleasant soar/sail/glide.  You farkers that think it's cool probably also think golf, Scots testicles or Disc either one are an AweSOmE way to fark up a pleasant walk.
