Why would clouds form a hexagon on Saturn?

Hexagons are a fairly common occurrence in nature. They generally seem to be for structure and strength. It's an efficient use of space when there are many other hexagon shapes to fit.

Where are the rest of them?

Saturn's atmosphere is made of basalt?

No, quite clearly those are the broken and abandoned birth cells of the giant space bees.

Storms are round, like tornadoes, hurricanes, and Jupiter's red spot.

Those storms also aren't on a gas giant's pole.

Jupiter's south pole had a pentagon for awhile. Now it's got a new storm and is finna be a hexagon.  Saturn's has just stabilized

That was supposed to be the hexagon, but apparently it's the pentagon. You got google

If you plot the hexagon by latitude rather than from above the pole, it's a sinusoidal wave. Same with the pentagon that Jupiter had for a while. They're actually slightly concave on the sides, but the images that show them clearly don't show this well because of the curvature of the planet is greater.

This wave shape is something very common in atmospheric jet streams. Jupiter and Saturn have no irregular surface effects like terrestrial planets, so they don't whip around like Earth's jet streams do, they form persistent regular patterns.

I imagine if the planets (Jupiter, Saturn) were not absolute farking enormous, they would infact be circles/round instead.

Makes sense in my head!

Also, looks like Uranus.

Dave and the Mission: Nice picture, would have been nice for them to link to a larger photo gallery.

That's not actually a pentagon.  It's 6 round storms packed together.

I once had hex in a Saturn. It was uncomfortable.
