I don't know subby, Mothra is generally thought of as a force for good. King Ghidorahseems much more likely.

Giant Fireball doesn't make me think of Mothra.
So many moths that you have to break out the snow shovels to deal with the dead.
Now that makes me think Mothra has set up shop near by.

Dang, I called Mecha Godzilla.  Pretty close, all things considered.

Ken S.: Originally brought to earth by the dreaded Xillians from Planet X!

Actually, it depends on which movie you're watching.  One, his egg was a meteor and cracked open when he landed on earth (or something like that) and than was used by the Xiliens under mind control to try to take over the earth.  Another, Ghidorah was original three separate beings that were merged into one due to nuclear explosion.  Various other movies in which Ghidorah was under the control of various aliens to try to conquer the earth.

This is some monster sent by Xenu to destroy Tom Cruise before we can send him up to space to deal with that villian once and for all.

(The "Shooting a movie in space" is an obvious cover.)

I wouldn't be too worried about Xenu's monster, though there may be some minor collateral damage before we can get Cruise on site. Honshu and Shikoku come to mind.

Is the video cropped or does someone just have a camera pointing at some power lines all the time that just so happened to be exactly where the meteor came into the atmosphere?

It is a Japanese monster movie, you can always see the wires if you look closely.

So, do you pronounce it GEE-durrah or Guh-DOOR-uh?

2020-07-07 1:07:41 AM
There doesn't seem to be a consensus on the pronunciation. "GHEE-drah" is the original American name, "GHEE-dur-uh" is the closest to the Japanese and was used in some US dubs. "Gih-DOOR-uh" is commonly used as well.

I believe "GHEE-doe-rah" would be close to the Japanese pronunciation.

Of course you can always just use "Monster Zero".

Thanks! I didn't even know there was a dispute until I watched James Rolfe on Cinemassacre discuss the Godzilla series.
