Yeah, I would think that instead of saying, "Somebody call Berni!" the meeting host could just disable his video or at the very least, boot him from the meeting.

Maybe shower guy was the meeting host, but this of course raises other questions.

I don't know. In business oriented ones that's the case, but in socially orientedooriented most people are responsible for their own settings.  And even if it is the business variety, most people have never ventured into all the bells and whistles.

No matter how many times I try to explain this to any of my colleagues, every meeting includes "What? Oh, sorry. No, go ahead." with a couple of "you're muted" thrown in for good measure.

Maybe 15 years ago, I took an online course for a version of Windows Server.  Before the class started, a pretty basic email was sent out telling people to download a VMWare image and set it up.  Link to the VMWare player, link to the image file, and step-by-step instructions for installing the player and opening the image.

The first TWO DAYS!!!! of the class consisted of the instructor individually walking half the class thru the process of getting the VM running.  Each time he finished walking someone thru it, another one asked if he could show them how to do it.  WTF?!?  What a wasted weekend.  I drank an entire mini keg.

Here is my question. If he was trying to multitask by showering while just listening to the meeting... and yet the sound of the shower was drowning out everyone shouting at him that they could see him showering... Then he couldn't hear the meeting either. So this reeks of b*******.
