Meh. Not surprised. Everything private equity "invests" in does, including Remington. Ever since, the quality fell through the floor and some of them models became downright dangerous (bolt guns, particularly). I have an 870 I received as a Christmas gift when I was 14 and another I bought last year on clearance, and the difference between them is stark. The cheap Turkish shotgun I bought my son the learn on is built better and will likely last longer. Hopefully the Navajo can revive the brand-Native Americans are under appreciated in both their engineering ability and business acumen.

Remington Typewriters and Guns -- both precision metal instruments -- hard enough for a man but smooth for the woman's touch.

The Remington 700 had some safety issues from its inception. Not necessarily common, some of them would fire under certain circumstances without a trigger pull. Cheap bastards never corrected anything until things became highly publicized a few years ago, and they got their asses sued off. Probably not the end of the world if you kept the farking thing pointed in a safe direction, but we live in an America where Trump is President, so of course that doesn't happen often enough.

It would be hilarious if all of the US Gun manufacturers ended up being owned by native American tribes.

If they ended up taking over the railroads too, I'd say it was fittingly ironic.

Do you think we could persuade them to take Arizona back as part of the deal?

Now they won't have to rely on corrupt Indian agents to get their supply of weapons.
