That can be dangerous for werewolves. According to South American tradition, the transformation can be incomplete and they remain at various stages between wolf and man.

Narrator: The heat didn't burn the virus. In fact, the heat caused the virus to spread faster...

"Ring of fire" can also refer to birthing a baby with no epidural, whereupon you feel like your asshole is falling out when the head crowns. Been there, got the T-shirt. We're farked.

I'm already feeling it and it's our first day of 90°(that's 34.5° for you non-Americans). I've had to restock my coolers once a day where normally i do it once a week. And we get 7 more days of this? Oh joy.

I hate it when the prose of a book doesn't match up to the artwork.

I ran through his works, not the greatest SF writer, but absolutely solid story telling, farking amazing characters, and he didn't fark up the premise. I.e. (spoiler) it's not actually time travel to change the past, it's a true alternate history.

He even gives a shout out to Isla de Vieques in the Caribbean novel. I nearly lost my shiat.

I tried reading some turtledove, and it just sours me. The guns of the south or whatever. I couldn't do it .

But these RoF books are wonderful.

There was a tribute anthology where other SF writers did stories in RoF. David Brin did one (that as usual) was just gorgeous. Go look it up.

Enjoy.

Try the  2 SM Stirling series  - alternate history Nantucket series and Emberverse series.   Nantucket is only 3 books & pretty much holds up throughout... Emberverse is about 15 books and starts to drop off around #5-6.... I didn't get past 8....
I also enjoyed Orson Scott Card's Seventh Son series even though it is YA
