I hope they don't start throwing punches, one would be bad enough, but 3,500, there will be no survivors.

I've had food poisoning exactly three times in my life, and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Last time I walked around with completely bruised corneas for like two weeks

As far as you know.

Most food poisoning goes unnoticed.
Misdiagnosed.
Written off as old age AKA they was 90 so yeah they died.

Woohoo! Yashio represent!

I've been home with loose stool and mild fever since Sunday.

Which is great, because it's probably not corona.

Still waiting for the call with my PCR results from the hokenjo.

Fingers crossed!

Word at school is the wakame salad is to blame.

I landed in an emergency room after food poisoning once. My blood pressure dropped to 45/27, and I was about to pass out. It turned out that almost all the water in my body got pumped into my GI tract in order to create much diarrhea, so I was incredibly dehydrated even though at the time of my 911 call, I hadn't actually had any symptoms. After calling, I had diarrhea, and they put 1 unit of saline into me on the way to the hospital, and then the ER put another unit of saline into my blood, and ... I had to walk/run with the saline holder thingy into the bathroom for my second round of diarrhea.

// I was assuming my home blood pressure reading was wrong, but the EMT said "yeah, that's about what I got" in the ambulance.
// I would definitely wish this on McConnell, Trump, Graham, Ingraham, Tucker, and Paul Ryan.
/// Triple slashy because I'd just intended to say that that meal sounded great and made me hungry.

It's weird to say it, but I'm happy it's food poisoning! (and not COVID-19).  Stay safe out there.

That drop in blood pressure is called a vaso vascular event.  It's the body's way of doing "fight or flight" when you can't do either.  It usually forces you to pass out which mimics playing dead.

/I get them fairly regularly if I get too dehydrated or my blood sugar drops too low.

While stricken with food poisoning?  This might be a time to call for reinforcements.

This is the kind of thing that has the potential to overwhelm healthcare providers.  Sure, maybe you can get away with care at home, but 3500 cases of salmonella or norovirus would eff things (and bodies) up.

Imagine multiple classrooms worth of students rushing to the few restrooms they have. Only a handful are able to crap in the toilets while the rest had to flood their schools with poo!

I don't care wtf the article says ( DNRTFA ) -- I farking love Miso soup.

It's elegant in it's simplicity, a veritable bowl of class, when properly done the glass noodle sparingly added to the broth tenderly basted to perfection with a simple few slivers of green onion and a cube or three of tofu makes for a perfect aperitif to a main course of katsu or sukiyaki ...

Why yes, I am poor and ignorant ... thus these are remnants of my past when I could afford to dine in Japanese palaces.

/ I miss you Nagato!

What was the incident? Nothing too bad going by the images, no chopsticks jammed into a bowl of rice, etc.
