Fisher dismissed the concerns. A company attorney, Mark Courtois, called the erosion "a normal part of new construction projects like this and does not in any way compromise the fence or associated roadway."

Enjuhnear here. No, that's not normal at all. That'll be a $10,000 consulting fee, thank you.

Fisher has leveraged his self-described "Lamborghini" of walls to win more than $1.7 billion worth of federal contracts in Arizona.

He doesn't care if the wall stays up.  It already did what it was designed to do - part fools and their our money.

Not only that but a cross-section of the border would have looked like swiss cheese due to all the tunnels long before there was even talk of a wall. My favorite was when authorities found a small car tunnel.

It's not as if bids are accepted from people without the expertise and resources to complete a project, or unreviewed for completeness and feasibility - it really should be described as the 'lowest qualified bid'.

I understand the bid process. A lowest qualified bid is generally going to have corners cut and reduced timelines/items underscoped. The impact of these items come out during the project at much additional cost, time, and stress. A lowest qualified bid almost always ends up costing about as much as a middle bid or even a high bid.

1. Submit lowball bid
2. Drive price up by claiming difference in conditions
3. Profit
4. Get sued for construction defects
5. Lawyers profit

This was built several miles up from my property where there is already a wall. The fact its so close to La Lomita church is so infuriating. The river banks changing easily is well known among local farmers, especially when a hurricane comes through. My father told me once when a hurricane hit and it altered the flow so that it made a new turn and suddenly there were houses in MX now in TX. The government offered the new residents citizenship or return to MX, which was no longer where their houses stood. They all opted to leave their homes behind and go to MX.

Never thought a day would come I would be glad to already have a wall so something so ugly and stupid wouldn't be built there.

Just Google "Chamizal" to find out how fluid the US/Mexico border is on the Rio Grande.  There's a word for rivers that don't respect property lines.  Unless you dam them and concrete over the dry bed, nature has a way of ditching your effort to take a second $1.7B from the American taxpayer.

Many of the "Indian"-settler wars in the Southwest had to do with forcibly changing the flow of rivers, and starving out people down stream.

Does this Bubba come from around here, or is he a Yankee transplant.

With the current walls, the popular methods have been
- ladders - commercial
- ladders - homemade
- Sawzall
and the most popular
- travel to the US legitimately on a visa, stay longer than it allows
- travel to the US legitimately on a visa that doesn't let you work, work anyway (Melania Trump did this one.)

Trump's wall is a waste of money, putting up a big monument to how much he hates Mexicans.

But this guy's wall wasn't a waste of HIS money - he spent a few million, most of which he scammed out of haters, and got a yuge contract from the Trump Administration in return for his virtue signalling.

And yes, it'll fall over quickly. If they're going to build a border wall, that's the best kind.

The best part about dirt ramps, is that Mexicans could build a hundred of them on their side of the border, to help mount the wall, and there is nothing the US could legally do about it.

The ramps do not even have to be used.  They could simply exist as a means of trying up BP resources in order to keep an eye on them.

The Mission private wall project, Fisher's second following a similar undertaking outside El Paso, is a little known but crucial part of the effort to help President Donald Trump meet his campaign promise to build 450 miles of "big, beautiful wall" by the end of 2020.

But I thought it was all going to be built by the feds and paid for by Mexico? Now you have donors trying to help you cheat to get your goal? Hey Donnie? You didn't build that.

That may be part of it. The entire philosophy behind the vehicle makes it occupy a segment where there's really no others (i suppose the likes of AMG/M-series would be close in most ways but hey, those are still sedans and coupes).

Listen, Trumpanzees, I built this wall up from nothing. When I started here, all there was was river. Other despots said I was daft to build a wall on a river bank, but I built it all the same, just to show 'em. It sank into the river. So, I built a second one. That sank into the river too. So, I built a third one. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the river, but the fourth one... stayed up! And that's what you're gonna get, you sh*theels: the strongest 3 mile long, 100 billion dollar wall in this "racing toward the 3rd world" shiathole.
