edmo: Just think of sports radio as the poltab and skip it.

I have to go out to the car to smoke. I surf the radio. WEEI (on Cape it's WEII, on Old Mac Donald's Farm it's EIEIO)
Mostly good stuff said about Cam by the hosts and callers.
/not holding my breath.
//IF, the NFL plays this year, I hope Cam does so well we get some new Hatriots
///Last night's discussion was 'We all need someone to hate and it's been the Pats'

Yep, of course. Let's give the clip a listen anyway.

Felger and Mazz.

This is how the conversation goes in my NE sportsball forum.

1st guy:  Felger/Mazz said...
Everyone else:  You're the idiot listening to Felger and Mazz.  Don't bring that crap here.

To me, Cam's hair styles, fashion choices, and celebrations aren't to my liking, but I don't care and no one else should either. Every person has their own persona.

I'm pretty sure that if he scores TD's, even Belichick won't care if he showboats.

These guys have been making up things to be mad about for 10 years, and they've doubled it over the past 3 months.

Newton would find trouble for not showing up, showing up late, creating "bulletin board material" for opponents, being a spectacle in public / on social media, or not agreeing to a lower than market multiyear contract well in advance of the offseason.  Everything else is fine.

They are about a year away from a .500 season. That year will be hilarious.

it's really a below .500 roster, coaching staff, and front office right now.

But I'm not sure why 8-8 is hilarious.  That's known as a success in some cities, and a f*cking miracle in a few others.

I love how the "act like you've been there before" crowd are ALWAYS the ones that never got there in the first place.

Because of the meltdown people there will be having. That's
Why it will be hilarious.

I mean...I remember Cam celebrating a first down with a full double-arm celebration while down 2-3 scores in the fourth quarter of a game where he hadn't done anything against Seattle, so yeah, I think he's a clowny buffoon. (Sadly, the NFL isn't very "find random plays from the past"- friendly with how they have their footage on lockdown)

It was just embarrassing to watch a supposed team leader and one of the best QBs in the league celebrate such a meager accomplishment while getting embarrassed. And I encourage celebrations, because it's funny to watch people celebrate as they lose, completely uninvested in the game's outcome so long as they have their moment of glory.

That said, FOH with this "Patriots Way, Do Your Job" BS. The dude can celebrate all he wants as long as the game is at least competitive. I'm just gonna mock him when he does it in losses.

Damn straight. 8-8 teams, and worse, have made the playoffs before.

The Pats are looking up at the Chiefs now.  If an endzone dance gets them a victory in the AFC Championship game, Belichick would do the worm.

I mean, they should be.

But also, a Pats/Bucs Owl would be the result of the absolute trolliest of NFL seasons.

Been a fan since the early 70s, my childhood was spent watching all the televised games, and being thrilled if they broke .500 in any given year.  Success!  Making the playoffs, be still my heart!  Folks are spoiled these days.

Hey, those radio announcers serve a vital civic function: We collect the froth from their rants and save it in tankers we use to put out airplane crash fires in Logan. It's the cycle of life, Boston-style.

I'm not going to read the thread right now. Maybe later.

What the dude said is the same thing he says about lots of players, including his favorite QB Aaron Rodgers..

Not sure how race played into it. And noted race-card player Stephen A Smith agrees.

I'm sure you all will be waiting breathlessly for some local media to breathlessly shout the n-word when asking why he threw an interception, but it's not going to happen.

Remember..the entirety of the media is liberal and liberal media would never say the n-word.
