yeah it is NOT 'depixelating" anything.
It is NOT decrypting anything to the truth.
It is not doing what the labeling tries to imply it is.
It is making chit up. It is best guessing. It is just making it up using the original image as a base.
But no this is not in anyway showing anyone what the original image was at all.

when i was a kid the front grills of cars and trucks looked like faces to me.  each with their own particular personalities/traits that i see in humans today.

one car's "face" would look sad and anothers happy or pissed off.

kids are weird.

I can't find it at the moment, but there was article on here a few weeks ago that said some new facial recognition software could "imagine" missing pixels. Yeah, right...

There's no reason why it couldn't, it would just lower the accuracy of the match because it's adding projected data.
