People didn't want to look at apartments or move during a pandemic.  Shocker

Part of the appeal of paying $1M for a 500 sqft apt in NYC or London is that you have a convenient place to bed down at the end of a day full of social interaction in a very cosmopolitan setting.

If you have to stay in said 500 sqft apt all day and night, it loses its appeal fast.

Christ, I made the move out to the burbs 10 years ago, and even in my house on my little square of mapspace, I am going farking crazy. I'm glad I can at least go outside and sit on a patio.

Isn't this the same situation in pretty much every major urban area?

Yes, but we think that they think that they're so much better than us.  It would break our hearts to find out that they're not thinking of us at all.

Yeah, you can go to a show, or a nightclub, and eat at one of the various ethnic restaurants throughout the city.

Of course all of that is banned right now.

But prices are actually going down in NYC.  Prices are stable in much of the country as demand and supply are going down equally.
