I don't know if those companies have deals with individual teams or just with the NFL in general.

Pepsi has a league-wide deal, you start messing with all the owners' bottom lines, there's going to be trouble.

Ok, I'll give you that one.  Sure they can ask the name be taken down but they will still have to pay the money.

As if Pepsi would endanger that deal knowing any of their competitors would quickly step in.

I'm betting FedEx can be shamed into dropping. They seem to be a fairly conscious company.

But the CEO is a bit of a Trump humper, so ymmv

Changing the name is a no-brainer.  All the publicity you can get from a "name the team" contest.  Offer fans the last chance to buy collectible Redskin items.  Then sell all new merchandise with the new name. Make millions.

Not sure.  I would probably depend on the contract. There may be verbiage to not do anything to hurt the Fed Ex brand and they could argue that affiliation to the team name is doing that. I am a lifelong skins fan and I think they are overdue for a name change. If we could somehow package a name and ownership change I would be extremely happy.

Yep, and you'd immediately have a decent chance of building a new stadium at the RFK site, which is a 1000% better location than FedEx.

All that would have is the winner of the naming contest would be "Washington McSnyderfaces" or some stupid shiat like that.
