Security at concerts are people who couldn't pass the mall cop exam and turned away as shiatty bar bouncer.

They're just there to tell people to not have fun and not take photos.  I do appreciate when they tell people not to ride on people's shoulders.  Buncha assholes.

"Has gone"?

He couldn't sing in 1990. Pearl Jam is easily the most overrated band from that era.

Seems like there were multiple tragedies like this in the early 00s. This one and the Station Nightclub Fire stand out to me, but I believe there were others. Hopefully it led to increased safety standards that lessened the chance of it happening again. Dying in a slow crowd-crush scenario is my ultimate nightmare. I'm short, too, so I wouldn't stand a chance. Recently I watched the ESPN 30 for 30 on the HIllsborough disaster and was paralyzed with anxiety.

That Station Nightclub Fire video haunts me more than anything. I won't link it. But I do thinks it's good at demonstrating just how quickly a small fire can become a lethal situation. I immediately clock all the fire exits when I walk into a music venue now.

Also, while I understand many would not prefer his singing style, Eddie can sing just fine.

But yes, people pushing 60 aren't going to be able to consistently belt out tunes like they did in their 20's

One of my high school teachers was a volunteer firefighter and taught us about that fire, even though it had only been a few months. The big thing I learned from that was drinking might mean that you're only aware of the door you came in through, and that a lot of people died stampeding to it while the fire doors stood empty and in some cases, wide open.

Lesson is, like you said, take note of the fire exits.

I don't think you understand what that word means.

I saw PJ in Tijuana in 1992 at a club called iguanas. They had one entrance/exit, put 2k in a space for 1k, and the walls around the clubs outdoor part had broken glass mortared atop it to prevent wall climbing. I was 23 certainly stoned and possibly on some psychoactive and even then I thought the place was a deathtrap in an emergency or fire.

Eddie monkeybarred above the crowd on some pipes and conduit before dropping 20 feet or so onto us.

Good times, no loss of life. Only brain cells.

How do 9 people die in a mosh pit at a PEARL JAM show?

In this context, it means there are a lot of people who think more highly than I do of Pearl Jam's catalogue.

This is fark, and these are opinions.

he was saying the exact opposite... i don't... i can't tell anymore when people are having a hard time understanding what they read and when they are just being shiatty for fun.
the point is, every one of the above-mentioned overrated bands are excellent, especiallymumblebjork!  (but especially Pearl Jam... and especially REM... but i can't account for Post-It Malone, i'm not familiar.)

anyway, i had never heard of this gross awful story; very sad.  tragedies used to stand out one from another, but now it's like we're numb from the constant slap of one after the next, too much so even to feel it.

Anyone that takes the Massachusetts Crowd Manager course and test has to watch clips from The Station and hear victim impact statements from survivors and families of those who didn't.

I've had to renew mine twice.
