"We know our fans have a passion for our craveable food, especially craveable food that makes a Tuesday a little more epic," Taco Bell said in a statement.

Taco Bell knows all the hip lingo.

Even when they screw up like this, you've got to admire Taco Bell's marketing team.  They have a refreshing self awareness that is truly impressive for a corporation.  Taco shells made from Doritos.  An exclusive flavor of Mountain Dew.  Their "Fourthmeal" ad campaign essentially was: "It's 2:00am.  You're wasted.  What are you and your friend who just vomited in the bathroom of the bowling alley gonna eat?  What the hell is open?  That's right: Taco Bell."  Then they partnered with Lyft and came up with the natural extension of that: they sent you a designated driver to TAKE you to Taco Bell. Genius. And I could go on. Somebody get them a raise!

I was pissed as I planned on that being my dinner last night. Still not a peep from Taco Bell. All they have to do is give everyone the option to use it over a weeks time so they don't get slammed all at once...this isn't the first time they've had a promotional fark up.

/Had a free Wendy's Spicy Chicken instead
/Not fat, but have been happily taking advantage of all these recent fast food freebies.

As Xkcd correctly pointed out years ago:  If someone is willing to spend "X" to put an ad in front of you, for spend 'X' in free stuff to give n people, then there is a direct expectation that a minimum of X/n-1 dollars will flow from you to them.

Damn, I forgot that was happening yesterday. Though it looks like I may have dodged some disappointment.

Taco Bell employees in Northwest Iowa wear masks. I appreciate this.  Even though one guy had his mask off his nose and so loose I could see his mouth.

McDonald's employees in Northwest Iowa don't wear masks. None of the employees in the store were masked. Someone ran food out to our car yesterday without masks or even gloves (I know gloves don't matter much for COVID but McDonald's claims to require gloves for customer-facing employees). We called ahead once to ask if they would wear masks and were told that they could wear masks. Meaning, as far as we could tell, that they had masks ready in case corporate showed up but weren't using them.

So, way to go, Taco Bell.

It's not on the menu but you can still order them. At least when you could go into the place and order in person.

I have tried at multiple locations, but they won't even make it as a secret menu item.

A coworker introduced me to a cheesy gordita crunch, which piqued my interest, but I learned about their limited-time items. Now, I check in on the limited-time menu, check for enchiritos, then go elsewhere. It is sad because I regularly think about going, but discard it because I dislike their current offerings.

It's like this everywhere for delivery people. Whether food, furniture or whatever. Company website lists all sorts of extra steps they're taking - masks, gloves, contact-less delivery, etc. Delivery person shows up and looks the same as always.

I think it varies regionally.  I occasionally see delivery people entering and exiting my building, and they are always at least wearing masks.

That being said, my area was an early COVID-19 hotspot, and has relatively few people who believe masks are tyranny.

Nope, i had the order taker say "just whats on the menu". Even though all the ingredients are right there, they refuse to do it. Thats how you reward 40 plus years of loyalty? Fark that.

I've had the same experience trying to get a gordita instead of a chalupa. I kept telling the kid, no not the gordita crunch, a soft chalupa, don't fry the chalupa shell. Got the sorry we can't do that. would you like a cheesy gordita crunch though?
