(Twitter)   Recent polling shows that the number of registered Democrats who are satisfied with the way things are going in the country has fallen to 19%. Sorry, what's that? Oops. Make that registered Republicans   (twitter.com) divider line

If only they had someone other than sh*tstain to vote for this November, someone who would end this madness, if only. Unfortunately this is just going to make them double down on the lunacy, they can't have minorities treated the same as white folks, that's just crazy talk.

2020-06-30 3:45:59 PM
It only took a pandemic, a recession, and civil unrest happening in three months for them to finally get it.

Too bad they'll still vote R because reasons and such.

That's a double edged sword. They could be upset at what they see as Democrats and Deep Staters and Never Trumpers trying to rein in Trump and prevent him from MAGAing as hard as he can.

THIS.  No matter how dissatisfied they are, they'll break the goddamn pencil filling in the oval for him in November before they'll vote for a Democrat.

Republicans are evil, and/or morons.

Beginning to think we might really see a legit blowout. I think you could have made the case/I would have believed that, even as things were going before COVID, Biden would have won based on a not insignificant number of traditional GOP voters who hate Trump but couldn't bring themselves to vote for a woman, or at least specifically Hillary who had 20 years of baggage from Fox News/Rush/O'Reilly/etc.

But now, the bottom really seems to be falling out on Trump.

Keep in mind Hair Furor isn't the official nominee.  Yet.  The GOP is all about putting their party first, and they're starting to see that Trump isn't the way to maintaining the Senate or retaking the House.  They **could** choose another nominee.

If this timeline has taught us anything, it's not to rule out anything happening.

//although I will never vote GOP as long as I live

Every four years some pundit says "OOH!  THERE'S GONNA BE A CONTESTED CONVENTION!" and every year there isn't.

I think it's more likely that the whole thing gets cancelled, and they opt for a coronation instead.

Sure.  Luckily there are lot less of them voting R.

And a whole lot of new voters who hadn't voted before because of apathy.  So, the pandemic, the recession and the civil unrest brings all these new voters who will not be voting for Trump.

When you actually pay attention and aren't part of the weird racist cult that are Trump voters, you actually don't understand why people would even consider voting for this Trump moron.

But Trump's support among republicans is like 95%.

They controlled the house for a time while also having the senate, and the presidency, and their guys on SCOTUS.

"Damn the democratic deep state!"

Oh yeah. If wears/promotes masks that 19% drops again. All he has left are those types.

I'm sure many of them are upset that their racism is becoming less and less accepted.

Republicans? Probably dissatisfied that there have not been enough deaths.

2020-06-30 5:44:02 PM
Joke's on you, Subby.

The GOP mouth breathers are dissatisfied, not because Trump is a shiatshow, but because he hasn't deployed the Army to openly gun down all the protesters, devil-worshiping baby-eating Liebruls, and anyone with skin darker than a Viking.  And to defend all of the precious oppressed Karens.

2020-06-30 5:44:07 PM
They aren't coming around. They're digging in.

2020-06-30 5:44:33 PM
For perspective.......
A 19% Fresh Rating if Trump* were a movie rated on Rotten Tomatoes would put him just below (or EVEN LESS SATISFACTORY) 2019's abysmal CATS (21%) and a tad better than the egregious error that was DoLittle (15%).
Roll closing credits!

Time for a Romney write-in campaign?

How many of those in the GOP who don't like the way things are going because BLM wasn't crushed by the military because of the deep state brass, confederate monuments should stay up (they shouldn't), the wall wasn't built because of the open border liberals (that don't exist), Antifa running roughshod over our country hasn't been stopped (they don't really exist either), conservative judges aren't conservative enough, there weren't more tax cuts, welfare and food stamps still exist (barely), gays can still marry, abortion clinics are still performing after birth abortion (they're not), prayer is banned in schools (it's not), ad infinitum

Their golden boy hasn't delivered the way they'd hoped, mostly because everyone and everything is out to get him, so they'll still vote for him again

That's lazy thinking, and never productive. If you write your opposition off as 'stupid', you cut yourself off from actually addressing their priorities, and potentially changing their mind.

Until 2020, republicans generally had most of their immediate needs met - they weren't worried about dying next month, or of losing their income, or of questioning police behaviour. So they had the luxury of identifying with a guy who appealed to their desire to go back to a golden age where blacks and women knew their place, where everyone went to church, and where there were few other foreigners walking the streets.

2020 has shifted the concerns of many Americans. The multiple crises have demonstrated Trump's incompetence on issues that affect GOP voters directly.

All Biden needs to do is keep reminding them. And all he needs is for enough of them to stay home on Election Day

This pandemic is preferentially killing people who on average vote GOPer, and creating kids and grandkids who will never, ever forgive these farking monsters for killing grandma or grandpa.

Speaking of out of control, has anyone noticed how the Liberal Media never, EVER brings up the successful containment of Covid throughout Europe alongside the catastrophic spiralling disaster brought upon America by the Republican Failure?

This looks bad enough just by itself, but it looks even worse when you realize that all of Europe combined now has fewer new cases per day than Arizona.

Note that Trump's overall approval rating for the entire country (so not just Republicans) is just over double that at 40% or so.  It's down a couple points from his typical rating, but only a couple.

I think Lindsay and Drew must have stolen Obama's time machine and gone back and sprinkled little easter eggs throughout Twitter.  See if you can spot 'em all.  I mean, who knew at the time that he meant "We" as in "The entire country" rather than "The Republican Party" as people assumed at the time.

Your numbers don't look right. Arizona is getting around 1.5K new cases per day (but rising). Maybe you're thinking of Florida.

Sorry, but I will never "address their priorities" as long as their priorities - as a political party - are defunding education and culture, militarizing police, diminishing workers' rights in favor of advancing the pay gap between workers and executives and undoing every single bit of social progress made since the Civil War.

I understand them.  And I will fight their f*cking platform until the day I die.  40 years ago, I may have been able to reason with them.  Now, they support Donald f*cking Trump - that's either evil or moronic.  They vote for politicians who are actively and proudly selling the country to anyone with money - and not even the highest bidder - in exchange for election tampering.  The Department of Justice is subverting the rule of law right in front of the nation.  They are suppressing the votes of millions.  Openly.  They are supporting police who beat peaceful protesters.  They are doing their best to halt any efforts being made to mitigate a deadly pandemic in the name of political freedom to infect anybody they want to.  And you want me to "address their priorities?"  Ok - here's my address to their priorities:

F*ck 'em.  The Republican Party needs to be treated like the National Socialist German Workers Party - outlaw them and their symbolism as traitorous bullshiat and openly shame anyone who defends them for the traitorous shiatstains they are.

2020-06-30 6:28:37 PM
Republicans are angry with SCOTUS, and even angrier with the governors (R or D).

They think the economy would have been just great if those governors didn't shut down restaurants and bars. And they probably wrecked the economy just to ruin Trump's reelection chances.

Republicans hate the protesters. If the cops started firing on them they would be content again.
