The House can include the language of the bill requiring foreign election help to be reported in a version they pass and make Moscow Mitch EABDs or not pass National Defense Authorization Act.

Sen. Mark Warner of Virginia, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, said Tuesday that Senate Republicans forced the removal of the election reporting provision as a condition to include the intelligence bill on the must-pass defense policy legislation.

Damn, guys! Stop it! Let the Republicans explain why they held it up. This one is hard to spin.

There is absolutely NO reason not to pass that. I dare them to give 1 (rational) reason not to!

And it would be dangerously naive not to realize they did it for a reason, and they know EXACTLY what they're doing.

The scary part for me is that they're doing all this, so they obviously don't believe it will ever be a problem for them. We REALLY need to be careful about the vote in November. It reminds me of the scene in Game of Thrones where Cersei doesn't show up to the sept like she's supposed to, and Margaery realizes something bad is about to go down.

"Forget about the bloody gods and listen to what I'm telling you. Cersei understands the consequences of her absence and she is absent anyway, which means she does not intend to suffer those consequences. The trial can wait. We all need to leave."

The Republicans know how bad it is that they're blocking measures to fight foreign influence in our elections. They know how bad it looks, and how bad it could blow back on them - and they're doing it anyway. They don't intend to allow the nation a chance to have them suffer those consequences.

Why would you assume that? Keeping Trump in office weakens America in a whole spectrum of ways. Anyone wanting to curtail America's power on the world stage will want Trump to win, and continue to burn our country down around our ears. Anyone who wants to destroy America, doubly so.

If they want to play dirty, I'm sure the D's can also solicit foreign money, and there will be far more foreign nationals wanting a safe and stable USA than foreign nationals wanting a loose cannon with a finger on the nuke button.

And really, the foreign entities can help out without spending a dime. The KPops and others will ride in with novel ways to push the message.

No.  Put all the intel from their malfeasance in public.  All the texts, all the recordings.  Throw the book at every toady that helped them until they all roll over.  Then, through the courts, take their money, and throw them in prison.  All using existing laws.  Then, while they sit in prison, show their corruption to the world.  Destroy their legacy by bringing their actions to light.

Damnatio memorae through honest exposure of the truth.  Any monument that would hold their name because of any good that they did produce in their life should be treated like Benedict Arnold's memorial at Saratoga.

These people care more about power and their legacy than anything else.  Taking away their power and destroying their legacy would be worse than any corporal or capital punishment.

They're not acting like scared kittens. Could we please stop pretending everyone in the US is just waiting for a super liberal to come save them? A very significant portion of the country still worships the military; there's no way the Democrats are going to risk that in an election year. Plus, they were negotiating to get the bill in with the military budget in the first place. The Republicans would be very happy to say they just want a clean funding bill for the military and scrap the whole thing (an argument they could reasonably win).

Add to that, what you're suggesting is possibly the worst move imaginable right this moment. If Pelosi tried to hold the military funding hostage, everyone in the Trump administration would have a simultaneous orgasm as they were suddenly handed the greatest political gift ever. The President is currently accused of doing absolutely nothing in response to a foreign power offering bounties on US soldiers, and you want to hand him a "Democrats want to defund the military" card. That would be breathtakingly stupid.

As someone pointed out in a recent thread, there are so many traitors, we might need a more efficient way to do this. I started thinking it out, and came up with a hybrid method. I call it the conveyotine. (sorry I didn't have time to CAD it out)

So, you take the... participant, lay them on the conveyor on their back, place the straps on their arms and legs, and the single use reflective collar around their neck. The conveyor advances until the photo-receptor cells detect the collar, and then pauses while a hydraulic ram shoves the guillotine blade horizontally and retracts. The head tumbles down a chute into an awaiting pickle jar, the restraining straps release, the conveyor continues to it's end dumping the body on another conveyor which goes to the Acme Dog Food Emporium truck waiting outside, and the system resets and advances, looking for the next reflective collar.

The three things I haven't worked out is the waste of a collar each time, so maybe just some reflective tape?
The speed of the mechanism would be limited by the "loading" sequence, so perhaps multiple alternating conveyors?
Not sure whether to use PLCs or just set it up on a PC with LabView.

Regardless, give me a few old bottling lines, a log splitter and a machine shop, and I'll have it worked out in a week or two.
Cost and materials + $1k/day. Not to exceed $50K.

This doesn't "work both ways."  It's still illegal to accept foreign donations.  At this point only one party has completely abandoned any pretense of adhering to the rule of law, so this works decidedly in their favor.
