It didn't click for me. Possibly because of Quinto, but it just never really hooked me.

The Strain? Entirely different story. Well, not just a different story, but that I clicked with.

NOS4A2 felt like it was just trying too hard. Joe Hill's book is just fine, and I did stick it out for the full season, but I can't say that I'm looking forward to the new season overly much. It had some decent elements, but I can't say that the characters sunk their hooks in, and if I don't care about the characters, the show is off for me.

I really liked the first season of The Strain, but it didn't keep my interest after that. Worth giving it another try?

I just can't get past the name.  I realize that's an incredibly trivial reason to avoid watching television show but there it is.

I tried reading the book, made it about 300 pages in, and gave up. I've never seen a book where so much happens yet doesn't advance the plot.

I saw the first episode of the show, and oddly felt the opposite: they went too fast, skipped too much.

I think a balance between the two would have been good, a middle ground between plodding and break neck speed.

Ymmv.

I really liked the world del Toro created, and the characters clicked for me. And it got dark relatively fast.

I will likely stream NOS4A2 when it's complete, but I'mma wait.

Loved the book but it has been awhile. Loved how it connected to Doctor Sleep.

I know Holloran mentioned in Doctor Sleep how his grandpa would threaten to call Charlie Manx go come get him when he was a kid.

Was there a Doctor Sleep reference in the NOS4A2 novel, too?

I gotta be honest, I just barely managed to hate-watch season one of this very uneven show. The main character is just sooooo difficult to like.
Now comes the second season and it hits me with *THAT*scene in the basement with the creepy fatso and the poor dude who had to give up his car. WTF was THAT ABOUT?
I nope'd right out. Done with that bullshiat.

I rode my bike past the set when they were filming in the woods near me.  That's all I have to add to this

Look anything that starts out with Ninja vampires with a lab under the arctic and guys who figure out how to make an immortal serum.

Wait that was Helix.
