Smart.  Even more votes coming to Biden.

Probably Trump won't fire Fauci because he's the only popular member of the Trump Administration.

No one is allowed to be more popular than daddy.

He's fired.

I don't think Fauci and I would get along socially, but the man knows his shiat.  And it's sad that I have to remind people that that is more important.

Remember when Fauci and Brix where at a press appearance with Pence, and then pence claimed we had flattened the curve, and saved lives, and Fauci sat there doing nothing, and never said anything about it ever again.

good times.

He's worked for every President since Reagan, regardless of his personal politics. That makes a pretty sound argument that he knows his shiat.

I noticed that. That will get under Trumps skin.

Trump already floated #fireFauci back in April then quickly backtracked then blamed the media for reporting his Twitter dumbassery.

Yeah but in his old age, it appears his spine dissolved.

Back in the early 90's when AIDS was killing Americans by the thousands, activist Larry Kramer wrote an open letter to Fauci taking him to task in no uncertain terms for the governments lackluster response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.  The letter resulted in Fauci contacting Kramer and the two had a productive conversation which resulted in a friendship that lasted until Kramer passed away earlier this year.  Fauci credits both Kramer and that letter as the impetus behind the increased research into HIV/AIDS during the 90s which has resulted in publicly available, relatively low cost treatments that vastly improve both the life expectancy and quality of life of those stricken with the disease.

Fauci seems like a decent sort to me to not only listen to and befriend someone who is open hostile but to later laud them for lighting a fire under his ass and opening his eyes as to the realities of the epidemic..

Are you farking kidding me?

This guy's been a well-respected medical professional across decades of bipartisan administrations.  His expertise has saved god only knows how many lives before COVID and god only knows how many during COVID.  It's not his fault America's taintpeople and the Electoral Preschool put in charge a contingent of dipshiats that found a way to politicize germ theory.  We now live in a world where if he tells people not to put knives in electrical sockets they will go out of their way to do it.  The fark do you want him to do?  He isn't a goddamn politician, and actively trying not to be one, he's just trying to get America not to pour gasoline on itself at this point.  If he gets fired he's being replaced by Dr. Oz, unless they think Dr. Dre will get them the minority vote.

And by the way he's already said multiple times we're not flattening shiat, including today when he said we've got 100K cases/day to look forward to.  How many times do you correct your bosses in meetings (which may or may not be in front of the whole country)?

Trump can always hire that medical nutjob Dr. Jane Orient, who thinks the only important thing about medicine is how much money a doctor can make.

When Pence lies, blame Pence for it.

Taking credit for flattening the curve and saving lives is different from (e.g.) telling Americans to gather in large crowds or to avoid wearing masks. If Pence is not actively providing harmful advice to the nation then Fauci is perfectly entitled to keep his mouth shut. That's politics, not public health.

Or he knows that if he farks off, Trump will replace him with someone worse. He also knows that if he gets fired without giving them an obvious excuse to do so, it'll be a PR shiatshow even by this administration's standards.

So he'll help where he can, but he won't give the farkstains an excuse to fire him.

I can't imagine how many times that Trump has screamed at and ranted at and threatened Fauci. It must have been horrible. At least Trump is probably not doing it to him anymore now, which much be such a relief. Of course, he still has to deal with assholes like Rand Paul, but at least it must be less shrieking.

Worse then 130,000 dead and massive infection numbers? Because that's what the good doctors behind the scenes keeping quiet when it counts has gotten us.

"Joe Biden spent the last five months trying to come up with a plan. The president has been leading one that slowed the spread, made us the world leader in testing, and reopened our economy," said Ali Pardo, the campaign's deputy communications director."

Ok, seriously?  Do these ball lickers actually believe the stuff coming out of their mouths?  Or are they just sucking up to Cheetolini? Do they think the public can't see what's happening with their own eyes?

Yes, worse.

Imagine if Fauci had ripped Trump a new asshole back in February. Trump would have fired him, and we would have gotten Dr Oz or Dr Phil in charge of the Coronavirus response.

That absolutely would have been worse.

How much did he expect to be in a small room with a syphilitic madman? I'm glad we can all be as brave as anonymous names will allow us here, and be sure we would speak truth to power when the moment met us. I'm not sure he's the best but he's FAR from unlearned and would, in any less broken Administration, be a good bridge to the next Scientist.
