Good luck with *that* my friend, this thread, to you, will be nothing but spoilers. My advice? Avoid this thread until you are actually watching the match, and slow-read the thread, one post at a time, to sync-up with the match progress.

Sure sign that Citeh is not expecting to get their UEFA ban lifted on appeal, and are expecting the FA to have something to say about their FFP hijinks that they won't like. They are about to go on a selling spree to clear the books before they get dumped down a level or two and can't afford the payroll (possibly down to League One, depending on what the FA has to say).

Can we ask Sky to turn up the fake crowd noise a few notches? I can still hear Gary Neville's colour commentary.

Sane's deal had only a year left and he wasn't willing to extend it. They're doing the smart thing in cutting their losses with him. I think it has nothing to do with the FFP issue.

So I'm reduced to watching this in SD on Pick, which is the free channel sky operate on digital terrestrial. It's not given much bitrate, even for an SD channel.

For example, in the wide camera they use for most of the game, I can't tell that Brighton are wearing striped shirts. They just look white with blue sleeves.

Ok... maybe he sees the writing on the wall, then, and decided to get out while the getting was good?

- Achraf is off to Inter, with Dortmund signing Meunier to replace him. Apparently United made him an offer, where Achraf laughed and went with Inter's
- Pellegrini might be Betis-bound
- Arda Turan's contract expires today
- Mourinho wants to buy Lucas Vazquez. I'd honestly be sad if Lucas left Real, as he had the balls to take the first penalty in the shootout against Atletico in 2016 while Cristiano hid and took his last. He's also a reliable player who can even play as a wingback in a pinch.

Back when we had no soccer and NBCSN was showing "classic" matches, I was going to propose a thread where those of us in the US watched the game and posted as if we were watching it live with no idea of the outcome.

Of course, I never got around to submitting it, and have no idea if it would even have been greenlit.

The Guardian was basically doing that with choice matches from across eras. I know they did some England matches as well as FA Cup.

IIRC the BBC website did the 1966 World Cup in "real time" on one of its anniversaries (50 years?)

Sideshow Bob. Phil Jones is a batch of mismatched parts trying to work together, much like Michel Salgado was. Luiz continuously makes poor decisions.

I'm honestly not sure how Brazil ever made it to the semis in 2014. They had Marcelo and David Luiz in the back four. Marcelo's a winger who plays from far back, essentially.
