Pocket Ninja: I guess this means Trump supporters have to start boycotting Wal-Mart, too. What's that leave open to them as an acceptable shopping destination? The local flea market and their neighbor's yard sale?

I don't even want to know what "People of Dollar Palace" are wearing (or not wearing, more likely).

If blacks can kill blacks, why can't racist whites kill random blacks with impunity? It's only fair, amiright?

"No man, black lives DO matter! Er, um, except to other black people who kill them by the thousands!"

grimlock1972: The best play here is for Walmart or any retailer for that matter to not not carry BLM or all live matter merch.   better to stay the hell away from that situation.

It might be the smarter business move in the short term, but the more places the right side of history is on display, the better. If BLM gets full mainstream momentum and it's in the faces of racist assholes everywhere they look, even in their backward ass rural bible belt towns, it gets harder and harder for the mainstream right to brush it off as a fringe [insert dog whistle term of the day here] movement.

phrawgh: They just realized what the meaning always meant?

/sure, Jan

I don't think it "always meant that," because it wasn't created by a singular driving force.

I'm sure that when I first heard BLM (without any context) back in 2013 or 2014, "don't all lives matter?" was probably the first thing to cross my mind.  I mean, it's such an obvious leap to make, to spontaneously generate that response on one's own, without any racist intent.  Especially as it's just a tagline for a movement and not an explanation of the movement and its necessity.

I'm sure there are many non-black folks who at one time thought ALM without having an immediate understanding of the true issue.  I'm sure there are still some people that remain in their own little bubble that think that, and think nothing is wrong with it, and yes, those folks remaining oblivious is part of the problem.  The whole white silence = violence thing.  Hopefully though now with global coverage, there are far fewer of them.

However, the trick is not to immediately attack people and call them racist, putting them on the defensive so they immediately dislike you and are forced to develop a position.  It's not the way to teach folks the truth and the importance of BLM. The way you win folks over to the light is not by attacking everyone with an us vs. them attitude.

/obviously, attack folk who are actually racist / fascist, but make sure you've properly identified them
//my two cents
