OK, that's all well and good; but what they really need is that graphic with the increased amount of testing factored in.

It does change things.

CSB:

I had a "discussion" with an anti-face-mask person on FB the other day, regarding a similar graph but from mid-June, where new cases per day were 6x more than in the EU.  This guy said the graph didn't matter because the amount of testing had also gone up and skewed the data.

I spent the next 2 hours scouring over data from the CDC, Johns Hopkins, etc, to prove the point that even WITH the additional testing, the # of daily cases in the US were now still 3x more than the daily rate in the EU.

Why can't CNN do some footwork, too?  A graph that takes "increased testing" into account would, I hope, shut up some of the disbelievers out there.

And for those who would say, "yeah, but why take that effort to convince people who won't believe 'fake news' anyway," my reply is:  why have any graph at all if nobody would be convinced at all, regardless?

For the record, after I crunched the numbers and presented the new data, my FB "friend" went "yeah well okay mumble mumble" and left the convo.  So...*shrug*

2/3rds of the farkwads I run into at the grocery store aren't wearing a goddamn mask at all, incorrectly or not.

Had some dumbass kids come to the door the other day (selling roof insepection - great time for that).  Masks dangling around their necks.  I honestly don't understand. Do they think it generates a force field regardless of how you wear it?

I just don't get the argument that the new cases somehow "don't count" because we're doing more testing. If you tell them that hospitalizations are going up, do they answer "yeah well it's only because we're letting more people into hospitals"??? It's absurd. Why do you think more people are going and getting tested in the first place? Because they're SICK.

Well, there's that, too.  But the issue with # of new positive cases per day includes those who may be asymptomatic.

George Soros is obviously bribing the EU to not allow Americans to travel there. It's the only logical explanation.

Getting access to N95s is a farking nightmare right now.  I have enough for another couple of weeks because I only go out to get groceries biweekly.  Same thing with the nitrile gloves.  I finally found somewhere that was willing to sell

And it's all because people are buying up supplies to offload them onto eBay or
they're being restricted to hospitals only.

People can still use standard surgical face masks and even cloth masks, though they're more geared to keeping people from *spreading* the disease than from people getting it from others. Anything helps more than nothing.

Also, reach out to your local health clinics, etc.  Ours got a bunch of N95s and surgical masks simply to be handed out to the public for free.

I wouldn't say socialized medicine.  I'd say socialism.  The people in those countries have a support system so that they don't have to work when they're sick.  The US is the one who doesn't.

And while US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has stressed the "importance" of reconnecting the US and EU during the coronavirus pandemic,

After this administration has spent the 3.5 years insulting them and breaking agreements, they'd be right to regardless of the pandemic.

Like a little biatch, he talks smack when on top and whines when on bottom (and bites pillows).

And that's why I can't be arsed to spend any time looking up numbers because Trumpers and anti-maskers are so intellectually dishonest that they're not interested in the facts. All they care about is stigginit and making sure their "side" looks good, and will spew whatever insane inanity that comes to their mind to support their cause, whatever that is.

If you're spending hours looking up data to try to change their minds, joke's on you.
