Well right now we're the COVID capital of the Western World so we don't have room to talk.

Neither our death nor case rate shows that.

You might be on to something - maybe we should start acting more like Poland, Serbia, Czechia, etc.  Look at their infection and death rates - astoundingly low (they are some of the ones keeping the overall European average down, BTW,).  Perhaps we can become as insular and homogeneous as Japan.

Oh, how's stefan molyneux doing?  Is he still mad about women who have sex with bad men?

Is he still going on about the fall of rome and trying to make parallels with modern society somehow condensing 500 years into less than 100?

I don't believe the numbers out of china, but they still don't make up that much of a difference.  Maybe 2-4% difference.

I know people in china, we have 5 plants there, and there are definitely a lot of unreported deaths, but not so much to move the needle to the point where we're still not number 1.

You know, that's an interesting point, Mike. It's normal for a hypermasculine entity such as the US to feel threatened by a feminized culture that is slower, kinder, more thoughtful, and more atune to the needs of the future, rather than the wham, bam, burn it down, patriarchal culture of people like you. A culture that thinks of renewal rather than destruction and profits can thrive and make people happy, and I think your kind finds this too hard to accept. You only think of destruction.

Please understand that I have serious maternal issues.  I know I have mentioned my father gave me a 250-million-dollar loan that eventually led to a successful company worth around one-hundred million dollars.  If it was not for my mother, this loan would have been half-a-billion.  She cut me off at the knees.

The fact you imply my maternal trauma has resulted in a latent desire for women of significantly above-average height that have won multiple martial arts championships across multiple disciplines, who coerces me into the locker room with all of her fit friends, is a disgusting and unfounded claim and you should be ashamed of yourself.

The reality is that me and these women will play real-life on the highest difficulty level, as Republican policies lead to the disintegration of the country and something not unlike the cutting-edge masterpiece The Last of Us: Part 2: Ellie's Revenge: Part 3, one of multiple downloadable content campaigns in the Season 4 pass for Season 1.

I thirst for violence because I play life on the "Hardcore" difficulty setting.  The only question is what the women will do with my corpse after have treated me to unimaginable desires.  My guess is that I was delicious.  I can't wait.

When set it to "now" the numbers vary wildly based on when during the day you look and when data is reported.  If you set it to "yesterday", Brazil is the clear leader on unadjusted new deaths, and if you adjust "new cases" on a per capita basis (unfortunately that site doesn't do this for you), it depends on the day whether the US or Brazil has more (but the US has done much more testing than Brazil).

I hereby demand that I be given a Fark account: Top 10 EU countries, cases per 1M, excluding states less than 100,000 (San Marino, Vatican City, Isle of Man, Liechtenstein, Monaco, the Faeroe Islands, Gibraltar and Andorra.)

1 Luxemborg 6869
2 Sweden 6700
3 Belarus 6574
4 Spain 6338
5 Iceland 5398 (note, only 341K population)
6 Belgium 5300
7 Ireland 5157
8 UK 4606 (does not include the Isle of Man, the Faeroe Islands, and Gibraltar)
10 Russia 4439

Cases per million
USA 8149
Brazil 6510

States worse than the US (skipping the tiny ones listed above) in cases per million.
Qatar 34,222
Bahrain 15,430
Chile 14,616
French Guiana 13410 (only 298K population)
Kuwait 10,818
Mayotte 9544 (only 272K)
Armenia 8620
Peru 8565

So, America is not the worst in terms of cases per million but is definitely near the top, and is absolute worst in absolute cases.

Why can't Americans tell the difference between the EU and the continent of Europe?

The US didn't go far enough in trying to suppress the spread of communism in South America.  That said, if we're such a shiathole, why haven't all the people who think that gotten the fark out?

Because, they want to convert the US into a shiathole.

Religion (I'm assuming you mean Christianity in particular) is just fine. The nuclear family is just fine. They've just been knocked off their pedestals as the only way to live a good and righteous life. If people who follow religion and people in nuclear families feel they're inferior merely because they can't present themselves as superior to all others, well, that's awfully unfortunate for them.

Horse hockey. The "nuclear family" was *invented around WWI as a way to sell more products. Before then, multigenerational living was *normal*. So was sharing houses (my grandmother's house was a boarding house during the Great Depression (as opposed to the current Trump Depression))..

And religion mocks itself when it tells you who to vote for, and who to hate.

Consumerism is an invention of the ultrawealthy... I mean, how else are they going to get their money that's temporarily in your pocket back?

Look. It's not coincidence that this country has more advertising spending than any other country in the world. It's not a coincidence that we have the highest consumption levels, either. We are infected with this shiat, and it has changed us.

From our political views to our view of family, we all are encouraged to adopt a brand and an identity that separates us from everybody else--the better to sell us stuff. Celebrate your individuality, right? Not your kinship with others, or your good works. Just the way you look, and which group you're in.

But how many families are actually "nuclear" today? Over half of parents divorce. Single parents are more the norm than unusual.
We lost that standard, let alone have grandma live with you too--which was already a division of the old way--and we've divided it up even further. Women work now, they can live on their own! Wow. So of course they have to work. So of course they're not mothers, they don't have so many kids, and they get divorced more often, and break up with good guys, because it's just too damn hard for two working people to stay together, if both of them want careers.

Do your kids sleep in bunk beds? shame on you--they each need their own bedroom. Do you co-sleep with your baby? Well, it is going to DIE. Your child doesn't go to daycare, tap lessons, early childhood programming, and is learning Chinese? What kind of a parent are you?? You are ruining them with your close relationship and playing at home every day.

Thank you, consumerism. You ruined the nuclear family too. And I remember it well because I grew up during the 70s. I didn't realize until later that it was probably partly marketing bullshiat. Or mostly. You've come a long way, baby. Here's your birth control pills, NOW you can compete for more wages!
Fark, it was probably "mostly." Our whole culture is nothing but a marketing scheme. And it's our government's fault for not reining it in, like the greedy bought farks that they are.

The opioid epidemic was nothing but a marketing scheme too. The entire epidemic! There is nothing too low for these people and they have ruined us.

/and nursing homes. Who has time to take care of grandma when you have to work to afford your way-cool consumer lifestyle?

Why can't Americans tell the difference between the EU and the continent of Europe?

Why would the Faroe Islands ever randomly be included with the UK, they're Danish.

I'd bet you lunch that most Americans would insist that the Faroes are Egyptian territory.

You might have missed the news, but people trapped in America don't exactly have a lot of places where they're welcome right now because you stupid farks have turned this pandemic into a political football.

Fancy_Bear: Excellent. Let's make Europeans safer by shutting down all US military bases and eliminating US Navy port calls there.

Agreed.  Time to end Us imperialism.

Yes, Spanky, you did.  More specifically that bloated Oompa Loompa corpse you elected, and his army of farkwits, did.

The Voice of Doom:

Also kinda applies to Czechia because they immediately made the wearing of masks in public mandatory back in mid-March; IIRC they only lifted or eased that about two months later.

Sorta... mask restrictions have been slowly being lifted. As of today, they are no longer required in public transport or shops. (Still required on the subway, but not on trams, buses, etc). That's really the only required place now.

I'm personally not wild about this. I wish they would remain required for shops. Won't droplets get on apples, berries, etc? Gone are the days of casual snacking on fruit and veg without cooking or sanitizing it.

Overall, they did an excellent job here, though.

It's going to happen anyway. By the time Trump is voted out, the country and its economy will be screwed and will take years to recover.

He will be known as the man who killed and bankrupted a superpower.
