A 40-something man trying to be the fratbro he never got to be.  Meanwhile, the fratbros all became 40-something men with families and careers.  It's sad.

I won't even get into the daytrading thing.  We've trashed him enough on the Business tab.  It warms my heart to know that he'll blow all his money on his genius investment ideas, women who don't love him, and cocaine.

Barstool is kinda fun and their "give-a-fark" meter is pretty low so whatever, I'm gonna still go with them. Especially since the main accuser works for a competing platform (Jemell Hill of The Ringer). No conflict of interest there.

I don't think the entirety of the Barstool universe is "bad" or anything. Spittin' Chiclets is usually decent, and so is Pardon My Take.

Portnoy as a figurehead is the issue; maybe he's a "good boss" behind closed doors and has a better business and content curation acumen than his idiotic "I peaked as a frat boy passing out drinks to Freshman girls" public persona, but I otherwise don't see his overall value at this point. There are some actual funny and interesting people he employs but he's just existing in the public space to apparently trigger libs.

Honestly, what bothers me the most about the Portnoy types isn't so much that they're racist, but they're a bunch of a one note Charlies with nothing else besides that shock jock mentality. Wow, you "triggered the libs", yet again, Davey. Big whoop. Oooh, I said a racial slur, I'm soooooooo edgy and in your face - just like every other 15 year old on YouTube.

That's like some liberal making a weak Trump joke and trying to pat themselves on the back about how hard they dissed Trump. We do that all the time on Fark, and we don't have a bunch of sycophants kissing our asses and giving us money on how bad we pwned the MAGAites.

The real money on fark posting is the amount of smarts and funnys one gets. It's pretty much like currency, gives others a sense of your worth in the hierarchy of Fark societal class.

For my own curiosity, I sure would love to know PFT's IQ. Dude is as quick as can be on his feet and the sly little references and jokes he makes cover just about every topic imaginable. He has never broken character anywhere that I'm aware of except for one single blog post, I like that.

I started listening to Pardon My Take only a few episodes in after searching for sports podcasts and it took me a while to get what they were doing, it wasn't entirely clear at first. The first time they had Blake Griffin on, there was a distinct moment towards the end when he "got it." It was pretty neat to see somebody else have it all click.

With extremely rare exceptions they are consistently the best interviews in the business because people are so relaxed, but they can also be serious. Marlins Man? Joe Buck?  Likable? Somehow, yes.

Their first interview with Arian Foster wasn't quite what people were expecting, at least not on my end because all I knew about him was from his days at Tennessee and I didn't see that coming. Real good one from him two or so weeks ago, too. Underneath it all, Big Cat and PFT have legitimate chops.

One of the luckier moments I've had was when I was going back and forth with a professor on the general issue of American foreign policy in the Western Hemisphere. He had recommended a few books to me after I stated that I was unaware of some mentioned items, one of those books being by Noam Chomsky. Given what I knew of Chomsky at the time, I scoffed at the idea but I'd already said I'd read what was offered so I did.

The end result didn't necessarily change my opinion on Chomsky himself because he has a nasty habit of telling half-truths and leaving his readers in the dark if events don't fit his narrative, but I did gain new knowledge on things I was previously unaware of which had an impact on my views of American foreign policy.

The point of saying that is that while what is heard about emotional issues can be correct, it can also be things passed along as if it were gospel when those speaking that way want certain matters to be true more than they want to find out for themselves if they actually are true. What I would ask that you do would be to listen to the most recent interview by Pardon My Take with Arian Foster. The times are listed in the link but they go for nearly an hour. If you're right, your beliefs about PMT are simply confirmed. If you're wrong, you learned something.
