So, that leaves him with his annoying, worn the fark out Spanglish bits.

Destroy him. It's not like he was ever funny anyway.

I've always hated all racist comics, even the "self-racist."

It's never okay, and it's never been okay.

From what I've read about George and heard from other comedians about him, you can't beat George up anymore than George has already beat himself up.

I don't give af what anyone says, 'Why You Crying?' is a great set.

I just hope that Latinos can finally sleep soundly at night now, secure in the knowledge that Emma Bradley (a whitx person) ALMOST condones how George Lopez is representing them.

ALSO.... I am a moron who confused the names "Emma" and "Laura" apparently.... but that is beside the point!

I hope you all realize that 99.4% of racist humor is about culture and not actual race.

What's funny about the color of someone's skin unless its plaid or polka dotted? Nothing.
What's funny about how people white people from the south keep spit cups everywhere? Everything.

It sounds like Mr Lopez was making fun of racists like his grandmother more than the races themselves. Perhaps we can just declare racists their own race (you know... like we've done with the Jewish religeon) and show them what racism really is... which is pretty much what we're trying to do now.

Great, now how am I supposed to learn about the intricacies & differences between Latin people & white people?

"White people, you do this...
Latin people, we do it like this..."

Adios, George. Fluffy's better than you anyway.

The author is actually wait for it, Puerto Rican and identifies as "Latinx"

Now my feelings after looking at her writings and her twitter.

She is a light skinned latina who grew up with white privilege who is clinging to her latin roots even though she grew up in a white world.

FSU and Northwestern are pretty white places.

She spends too much time telling white people how to act towards black people.  Not her place.

The majority of her career has been doing puff pieces.

She says her Spanish is "limited working proficiency"

I guess she can order a churro or call someone papi.

I will also love George forever because he punched Carlos Mencia for stealing his sh*t.

I am just curious, are comedians in other countries getting as much flack? Are American comedians getting as much flack outside of the US?

The UK comedians have long been more brash, with racist, sexist, misogynistic comedians. I know Jimmy Carr is still around, he has had a rather...well colorful past when it comes to his comedy. Have not heard much from Frankie Boyle in some time, but I think he went so far beyond the pale, that there was no way you could have taken what he said to heart, and thought he was malicious, tho he is a prick. Kinda like the Dice Man.

Obviously there are many, many other comedians who have had more than their share of dark comedy, but seems like only Americans are getting shiat on. Is it the stupid moral high ground we thought we had?

Chapelle and Key and Peele have some hilarious bits. Then you've got stuff like boondocks too.

None of that is funny at all to you?

Stereotypes exist for a reason. Sometimes they're funny.

Sometimes a comedian finds a clever way to get the point across that's hilarious.

Other times that comedian is George Lopez.

Apparently, the BBC dropped an episode of Fawlty Towers, but reinstated it after John Cleese criticized them.

John Cleese Shamed the BBC Into Reinstating Ousted Fawlty Towers Episode

I did read an interesting perspective on "offensive" shows. a few days ago:

Disappearing cultural sins: The case against banning old racist TV shows

Excerpts:

There was one show that I felt was absolutely offensive. It was a British Sitcom called Mind Your Language. The premise was potentially quite funny. A group of immigrants from India, Pakistan, Italy, Greece and other parts of the world came together to learn English in an evening class.

I mean that does sound like it could be pretty funny, right? It wasn't.

The writers leant into every cliche and stereotype possible: from funny accents to mocking clothes and culture. It was designed to be offensive to every culture featured in it.

...

As I grew older I forgot about the show. Then in 1988, I went to Pakistan on a family holiday to meet relatives. I found myself in my parents' ancestral village in a very rural part of Punjab.

...

After the news, there was a single English-language programme. On this particular night it was (cue drum roll ...) Mind Your Language.
I was shocked that something that featured a crude racist stereotype of a Pakistani (let alone all the other nationalities depicted in it) was airing in Pakistan. But a funny thing happened. My cousins, aunts and uncles - who understood English - began to roar with laughter.
...
In Britain, the racist nature of the show was its appeal. Here in Pakistan, it was the British attitude they were laughing at; the lack of understanding of anyone else's culture.

One of the main tropes of the show was that people of colour had not integrated into British society. But in my family's village, they saw that while the British may have ruled India and helped divide it into India and Pakistan, it was the British who had never understood it. In Pakistan, they were laughing at the fact the British characters were all so ignorant of anything other than warm beer, and fish and chips, to use some stereotyping of my own.

- Imran Khan (the journalist, not the PM)

When I tried to find the article today, I found this first:

Donald Trump to Imran Khan: Mind your language...
