Wow.
Please remember, Ripped pink top, gunt lady in her PJs votes.
Please, everyone, encourage your young voter friends to view this and remind them they can vote out racists and make them lose their voice in our government.
This person will vote for racists.
We need a million votes opposite her one to do this.
Tell them that, and tell them to share it out.

If America had 1,000,000 votes against racists per every one vote for, we could change this nation.
But you have to do it every election, at every level. Every time.

He'll leave it to his crowd of braying morons to actually say it, then he'll retweet it, delete it with a shrug and not so much as a 'whoopsie'.

Remember when such a thing would have been news and controversy for months? Cause I sure as fark don't anymore.

Well, that's not racist at all!

Why can't those people be more cooperative, and simply respond when questioned?

Before you go swinging for the fences for the victims of this one, know that:

1. They're white.
2. They were moving in three days in a row at 3 am.
3. They apparently got into loud fights outside around the same time.

That said, the crazy lady's go-to was to rush outside and yell at them to STFU. That was her introduction to her new neighbors. Not "Hey, nice to meet you, but it's 3 in the morning and I wonder if you could keep the noise down?" or anything else. Just "WHY DON'T YOU SHUT THE FARK UP?" and then a bunch of random N-words directed at white people for some oddball reason. Oh, and her "government" pay is welfare, not a government job, if anyone was curious. She's unemployed.

All of this was on Reddit days ago and someone posted her ranting, crazy Facebook post. She's a certifiably crazy conservative racist, no doubt, but she was also triggered by some new neighbors being a little bit inconsiderate in their new neighborhood. That doesn't excuse her at all, but it gives some context and indicates that maybe... just maybe... the people who shot the video were also assholes.

And no, this isn't a BSAB thing. This is a "If you don't want crazy neighbors to freak out on you, don't make lots of noise at three o'clock in the morning every night" thing. I (very slightly) sympathize with the nutball Karen... At least, I did until she started whipping out N-bombs like it was nothing. Now I kinda hope the new neighbors are throwing loud parties every night.

Either way, the story is more nuanced than it appears and both parties might just be jerks.

I think in this case one side proved to be far worse than the other side. Yes, both sides suck, but one side is louder, ruder, and suckier for sure. The Facebook post makes it clear that the lady in the video is going to be a nightmare to live next to. I'd already be looking for a new place if I were those people.

However, loud shiat at 3 am... They kinda belong together.

Where I live teenagers are out at 1 and 2 in the morning.  They ride bikes in groups and shout to one another.  I don't think they realize how loud they are because it will wake me up, but it's short-lived because they quickly ride by.

These people moving at 3 in the morning were probably louder than they realized, and it was long lasting noise.  I get that she couldn't sleep, but she could ask them to be quieter without being obnoxious.

I find this story kind of interesting. Like some posters above, I'd prefer not to live next to either party in this situation and both exhibited clear signs of poor judgement and behavior, but the story does force us to really examine "intent" and "use".

In this case, it's clear there was no racial animus involved in the use of the word. All parties involved were of the same race.  So you can't say what she was saying was "Racist" - that would be objectively false because we would not say Ice Cube was saying Racist stuff if he were to walk in to a room and say "Man, these [n-word] are loud af".  In that scenario, regardless of the races involved, we would acknowledge that as a non-racist use of the word.

So we have to ask ourselves, what makes the usage "racist" in this scenario but not the other and the only answer I tend to hear is "because a white person said it" or to be more specific a "non-black" person. There are two problem I see inherent in this thought process:
1: Making a word Taboo based only upon the color of the persons skin who utters it, is racist by definition. (the acknowledged one, not the one based on the Cultish Narrative that reality is not objective)
2: If only black people are allowed to utter the word and it's taboo for all other races, this would indicate that there is at work, something that could be labeled "Black Privilege" as they are the only people privileged with the ability to use that word in society without serious repercussions.

Now if we acknowledge that there is such a thing as "Black Privilege" then we have to acknowledge that "Privilege" can come in many forms at many levels of society and therefore we cannot claim that the current power structure of society is a result of just "White Male Privilege"

So yea, I find this story interesting.

Once, when my brother went from dating a woman who spoke Spanish to dating a woman who spoke Portuguese he called his Brazilian girlfriend the Spanish word for cutie. In Portuguese it meant whore. It's not that you can't use the word, but the translation is not and will never be the same. What you want to say is not what you will be saying.

If the n-word rolls out of your mouth that easily, it's a problem. I've been angry, and called a lot of people a lot of creative, profane things. None of those things was remotely racist, because saying anything remotely like the n-word, let alone the word itself, would not be natural, to me.

That said, these people who she was complaining about are also likely not nice people. It's 3am, you should not be out and about in a residential neighborhood making noise. If you have the need to make noise at 3am, go live out in the country.

This story has no good people in it. N-word Nancy deserves to be woken up every morning at 3am for the rest of her life, but not the rest of the neighborhood.

I agree 100% and why I think propping up the Taboo makes the matter worse. In order to take the power away we need to remove the taboo.

The power of a word is not in it's utterance, but in it's reception. If you call me fat, that word has no power unless I choose to give it power and react accordingly. It wasn't that Archie Bunker used the word that defanged it, but how George Jefferson reacted to it's usage and the same in reverse. It was incredibly effective.

That's why I think we're doing more damage by stripping out "intent" and "use" and making the word a taboo. We're infusing the power back into it that many worked so hard to remove.

I guess the main jist of my post is, before thinking of this lady as "racist" - just really consider why you are jumping to that conclusion (not you specifically) and why you might be very wrong in that conclusion.

Your personal experiences do not encompass the entire world so something that is unnatural to you might be very natural to someone else. Especially when considering language and usage. Depending on where this lady lives, the culture of the neighborhood and the people she hangs out with, it might be very natural for her to use it in that fashion. You can see hundreds of examples daily where that usage is completely natural. So to make a judgment based only upon your empirical life experiences with out regard or empathy towards those of others is, well, wrong.

This story has no good people in it. N-word Nancy deserves to be woken up every morning at 3am for the rest of her life, but not the rest of the neighborhood.

That's a pretty harsh penalty you are wishing upon another human being, especially given how scant your evidence is to dehumanize her. I realize this is the internet, but you know absolutely nothing about this woman and yet you are willing to call for her life long torture. I find that rather appalling especially when you consider the entire dehumanizing premise is based only on skin color.

Moving sucks enough without dealing with the heat and sunburn. Doing it in the cool of night is much nicer.
Though yeah, when I have done it, we kept our voices down, carefully close car doors, set things gently on the floor, and just got things in the new apartment in the night. We waited until people were awake to start reassembling and arranging furniture, unpacking, etc.

I find it interesting that you're very concerned about demonizing a woman who, by her won actions, is being vilified. But. you have a long justification for her use of the word that demonized an entire race of people for generations.
