She's right. Treason is never a good look for a President, nor being such a buffoon that your staff doesn't trust you. Either is grounds for removal, and anyone attached to these decision trees to keep this covered up.

And that the Usual Suspects who were only two weeks ago happy to call on US troops to fire on our own citizens seem awful quiet shows their actual concerns. It ain't for the country, it ain't for our troops, and by their silence, that's Team Putin all the way.

Treason. Treason all the way down, by inaction in the face of this bounty.

So which is it? Is Russia and ally or an enemy?

We also enabled a genocide in Jakarta

Looks like the talking point is finally out. And they're going with "two wrongs make a right." Good luck with that...

Im pretty sure Taliban militants didn't need money to kill Americans, it was just a Christmas bonus to them.

Do you even understand the politics of what is meant by "paying a bounty on American soldiers" here, and why it matters? Because based on your one-line comments, I don't think you really understand why this is a big deal.

But here's a hint. War, declared or undeclared, is a state of conflict between two or more nations, and their respective allies. Everyone else stays the hell away.

Russia has no skin in the game between America and her allies, and the Taliban and the militia. They are not a declared participant in this war, and if they are undeclared, it should be by paying money to the Taliban directly or supplying arms and materiel.

Additionally, bounty hunting is not a part of warfare. It's a means of collecting criminals when no other method will suffice. Even asymmetric warfare has certain lines of demarcation and rules of engagement; bounty hunting does not. I know the perception is that Iraqistan is the wild West where there are no rules or laws; but in fact Americans have been playing pretty much by our rules, such as they are.

Finally, bounty hunting is outside the law of the land. It encourages killing via booby trap, ambush, noncombatants, and during times of cease-fire and negotiation. In fact, it encourages breaking cease-fire and truces because the opportunity for money exists, and makes negotiations nearly impossible. You can't negotiate in any kind of faith with opposition leaders when the soldiers are killing your troops for cash payouts.

I hope this helps you understand this is kind of a big deal.

Maybe.  Maybe not. What matters is the president is not acting in the face of another country putting bounties on our soldiers heads, and worse, is actively working in their interests on things like adding them to the G7.  It does not matter if the bounties are on the heads of soldiers in Afghanistan, in Iraq, in Germany, in Japan or in the Good old United States, it's the fact that Trump has not responded to the bounties.

We hid NOTHING!

Reagan met with the Mujaheddin in the Oval Office, called them "the moral equivalent of our Founding Fathers," fully covered by the press. The U.S. press, I now have to add.

None of that was done in secret.

What was secret was trading arms for hostages with Iranians to fund guerilla troops in South America when Congress refused to fund them just because they did stuff like rape and kill nuns and junk. The Rapethuglicant administration also ran drugs to get money to fund those death squads, as well.

I swear to God no one remembers anything anymore! And this is relatively "recent" history, too.

Yah, no.  Refusing to respond to provocations like putting bounties on the heads of soldiers is a guaranteed way to have more such provocations occur, and the more likely it is that your populace is going to demand a real shooting war.  Responding to such provocations without total war, with sanctions, with expelling diplomats, with making overtures to the UN, in short, doing things short of war to make them understand such provocations are not allowed, is the only way to prevent all out war.

I'll explain this once, and then you're going on ignore:

Reagan invited the Mujaheddin to the WH, all above-board, and gave them arms to kill our mutual enemies, the Soviets.

The Frothing Slug, however, claims that Russians are our friends, and its best buddy is Putin and they helped it win the election, and it does nothing but kiss Putin's ass, and sends Putin PPE and ventilators - and in return, Putin pays bounties on our soldiers.

And still, after finding that out, what does the Frothing Slug do? It INVITES THE RUSSIANS BACK INTO THE G7 AND THE TALIBAN TO CAMP DAVID.

The two situations are just a tad different, and the fact that you cannot IMMEDIATELY spot the difference and had to ask such a moronic, right-wing question is why you are now on ignore.

Russia offering bounties to those who kill our troops is something an enemy does, like bombing Pearl Harbor or flying airplanes into American buildings.  What us libby-libs are pissed about, is we expect the enemies of the United States to be the President's enemies as well, and that is emphatically not the case.

You can't know that.  There is no reason to believe the Russians would risk the political fallout of having secret bounties paid for dead Americans if they thought those Americans would still be dead anyway without those payments.  They must have contemplated the payments to begin with because they were not happy with the number of Taliban attacks.

Doesn't matter. What was his response to learning about these bounties?

If you believe he found out when we did then his response was to shrug and go golf, no denouncement, no calls for sanctions, no f*cks to give about it at all.

If you believe he knew ages ago then his response was to keep sucking up to Putin, calling Russia our friend, and trying to get him back into the G8, no denouncement, no calls for sanctions, no farks to give about it at all.

It's a farking disgrace either way.

2-1 feels a little high to me, but I haven't seen any specific polling data. It's still a long time to the election, but a lot will depend on how the bounty story progresses.

Trump doing nothing after Russia paid for dead American soldiers is going to cause a lot of outrage in the military community. If his defenders in Congress are too aggressive about covering for him, the outrage could trickle down to their races also,
