Ain't gonna win that, some states have had mail-in voting for a while already.

If voting by mail is good enough for Trump's press secretary, it's good enough for me.

I saw this on the nightly news a bit ago, I wish it wasn't a video but I can't find a transcript.
For states that haven't done massive mail-in voting before, there are a lot of hurdles to be able to do it. I'm kinda crushed.
Well worth listening to, you won't be surprised later.

And thus begins the legal battle of a President who is terrified that he has so royally screwed the pooch that he is going to lose the election.

Only four months to go folks.  Your election process is about to get reamed so badly its going to need a cholostomy bag afterwards.

PA, MI and WI were all really close in 2016. If those states flip - he's lost. Even if FL goes Trump.

Regardless of how the election plays out I figure there's zero chance the orange bastard goes quietly.  He'll throw a temper tantrum like the spoiled child he is, and might even have to be literally dragged out kicking and screaming.

The mail in primary voting here in PA was the most farked up thing I have ever seen.. misprinted ballots all over the place..

My two neighbors, both Democrats who have lived here 20+ years and live in the same household, received ballots with different US and PA rep choices on it.

I said on here months ago that if they try to postpone the election there will be mass-protests and riots in the streets.

Some farkers replied that there most certainly would not be mass protests and riots by basically saying that a whole lot of other shiat has happened before where people would be outraged and then just move on once the next distraction came along.

Well, if the past few weeks have proven anything.....

Trumpanzees - you aren't fooling anybody.
All you know or care is that if the people vote, your side loses.
You would argue that giraffes fly if you thought it would serve that end.

From TFA:

The Trump campaign and Republicans are seeking an order that would prohibit Pennsylvania from permitting absentee and mail-in ballots to be returned to locations other than the offices of the county boards of elections.

I'm actually OK with that.

There is a small element of comedy in this idiocy.

A relatively simple way to provide more convenience to voting is early voting -- live, in person voting at polling places, but on multiple days prior to election day, including weekends, so that people don't have to take off work to vote, or get crowded into long lines in the evening after they get out from work and hurry home.

In Pennsylvania, early voting was proposed. Republicans don't like early voting. They don't like making it easier for working people to vote. They don't like that black churches use Sunday voting to organize church members, to encourage them to vote, and to get them to the polls.

Republicans favor mail voting -- it makes it more convenient to vote in rural areas (which they see as their voter), makes it more convenient for snowbirds to vote (again, people that can afford two homes -- their voter).

So when PA's republican dominated legislature recently amended the election code to provide a form of early voting, what did they do? Mail in voting, to favor their voters.

Now their Trump-commanded base is complaining about the type of voting Republicans wanted and complain about the lack of in person voting safeguards --- which they would have had if they'd allowed the in person early voting Democrats preferred.

And they have to twist themselves into intellectually deficient twisty-ties while biatching about the voting their party preferred. Sad/comic face.

Personally it feels to me like America was done sometime during the Reagan administration.  Once Nixon & Kissinger's pioneering in electoral shenanigans, deficit spending, deregulation, fearmongering, media takeover, rampant warmongering (and profiteering!), and winner-take-all politics within the 2-party system demolishing any remaining concept of a "loyal" opposition really got going in high gear, it was always going to be nigh impossible to wrench the far-right fascists from power.

I think in 2016-2020, they simply stopped pretending to be anything but far-right fascists, and decided they don't want to pay anymore for the bread & circuses that distracted us since 1980...

I still say Biden - who was born in Scranton and for years was known as "Pennsylvania's Third Senator" - will win PA by 8 points. suing the counties to stop voting by mail - which turned out to be very popular in the primary election a few weeks back - might drive Biden's winning percentage up even more

/I voted by mail in the primary
//and will do so again in November

You are assuming walk-in voting will be allowed.

I don't know how, but I am willing to bet that is going to farked over as well, and some system put in place that only favors the rich, sorry, I mean assures the health and safety of the proud working class citizens, while ensuring that fraud is kept to a minimum.

Some sort of expensive prescreening that allows for online voting perhaps?  Also easily rigged.

The incumbent will lose the popular and the electoral college by a landslide.  Before bedtime on election night there will be insufferable cries of interference, hacking, and widespread voting fraud.

/ it will be delicious.

Interesting that the state GOP isn't mentioned as one of the parties. Wonder if it has to do with them mailing out vote by mail applications back in March.

Personally, I am looking forward to the EPIC level shiatstorm that follows the election, as the Lame-Duck does everything in his power to invalid the results in his favour.

And when that fails...  what he does as his final 'scorched earth' retribution.

Examples like this, which you pants-wetting conservatives claim is proof of fraud, instead prove that vote-by-mail works at both detecting fraud attempts and identifying the perpetrators.

Cry harder.

I just returned a covid relief check I found in the street. Fell out of someone's mail.

Probably the biggest problem is legal guardians - how many votes does an old folks home get?

Loved the 60 minutes piece last night interviewing  random Jane Blow from Oregon on the pros/cons of mail-in voting. Riveting, top-biatch journalism. 'Try it, you might like it!'

Let's postpone until there's a vaccine. Or boycott until we get a real choice.

FTFA: They're also seeking an order that bars the county election board from counting absentee and mail-in ballots that "lack a secrecy envelope" or have any text or symbols on envelopes revealing the elector's identity, party affiliation or candidate preference.

So if I mail my ballot in with my return address on the postal envelope my ballot is void ?
I've been a life-long resident of PA, so I wouldn't be surprised.

RedVentrue: RFID the mail in ballots.

They don't want to make elections secure, they want to prevent people from voting.  These are the same people who are ignoring foreign interference in our elections.  They want to win, how doesn't matter.  They don't have to attract more votes, if they can prevent people from voting for democrats.
