ski9600: brachiopod: Cornelis de Gyselaer: Mrs Kees passed her Mega final!!!

Now all that is left is the Fed board exam

Great news! Congratulations!

I'm not sure what the Mega final is, but Yeah, good job!@

Also, I've been listening to a lot of Grateful Dead music for the last 3 years or so.  Back when I used to go to some concerts and all of that stuff beginning in the early '80's I wasn't able to have access to the repertoire or any of the history of the GD in books and stuff.  Anyway, sitting here today just listening to a concert from 1979 and they're playing Row Jimmie, after El Paso and I really don't see what all of this music has to do with the whole culture.
I guess they had long hair, and could do some big jams that were groovy but mostly it's traditional songs, blues, and country and western.

I think if I was a cop in the hall back then, I would have thought this stuff sounds pretty good!  Kinda shuffling my feet and trying not to draw attention.

I totally had a deadhead period. I didn't like them that much I was more into Dylan. My crew were all deadheads though and we had great times. It's kinda hard to like the dead when you don't like live recordings all that much.

I was listening to a concert from New Orleans in 1971 last week.  I think it was the night they got busted and the famous Truckin' is written about.
Anyway, they had a PA failure that couldn't be resolved quickly and came out and played acoustic to 3,500 people.  So cool, the show must go on!

ForlornHope: Taylor Mental: ForlornHope: Taylor Mental: ForlornHope: Taylor Mental: EighthDay: Taylor Mental: He lays on the bed groaning and drooling with his eyes barely open.

I would suggest ask the vet to run blood work based on these symptoms...

Thank you guys. I will ask for another visit and get Larry tested as well.

But there is no harm in giving a cat an IV hydration right? I don't understand why this wasn't done.

unless the cat is dehydrated, adding extra fluids can overtax other systems and add more stress.

Okay. I apologize for being such a worry wart. Thank you for being so patient.

I'm happy to answer any lab work questions that the vet doesn't clarify for you too.

No, you just said basically what the doc said. I'm going to follow your instructions and see how today goes. I have the a/d food, just need to use alternative means of getting it inside him.

Supposed to call vet back Thursday. I'm will ask about testing for Larry then.

I can take photos of how to force feed a cat it it will help and post, just let me know. You can probably find it on YouTube too.

When Larry was a few days old I bottle fed and burped him on my shoulder. Then he'd fall asleep and I'd gently set him in bed to repeat this with his two siblings. He hasn't had a bottle since going on solid foods of course, my has shoulder been his comfort zone daily. He's too heavy to stay up there long without it being painful to me.

But that's what they both need now, to be babied and nursed to relieve their stress.  And I have to learn how to do it out at the lake because for better or worse that's our home now.

So I went to both dollar stores and the grocery store here to look for an eye dropper or something to improvise delivery of this medicine for Taylor and food for both. The nearest thing thing they have is a turkey baster.

I got back to the motel, added a little water to the a/d, mixed it to the consistency of a thick gravy, heated it in the microwave, and put a dab in both their mouths. They turned their heads side to side and generally acted as if it were peanut butter.

Larry gagged a bit and I thought he might throw up. But he swallowed it. He's been laying there on the bed groaning for half an hour, and he audibly farted.

Taylor had heard me working on him and came out from under the bed because if any love is being handed out she always comes to get her share. After putting the a/d her mouth shut went and drank quite a bit of water out of the bowl. So she is definitely improving.

I couldn't find the baby food in chicken flavor. But I did get some chicken pate LF canned food, which they do like unless they get bored with it.

I'm going to keep this routine up with Larry all day until he'll eat on his own.

Also, when I asked the clerk about the eye dropper she said the farm and ranch store have a good selection of bottles and stuff just for this purpose. If I have to I will bottle feed Larry again. He will remember how we do it.

I will update in today's thread later. Thank you everyone :D

I had a serious bummer today. Taco Trucks and other food trucks are not that common in the detroit metro area. I saw a sweet looking taco truck on my way to the weed store!1! Problem...I had no cash. There was no way it took credit. Or so I thought, perhaps you can give me info on that. I really really wanted to get some eats. I think I am going to start keeping a 20 with me. I normally only got my debit card and ID. I really like the idea of food trucks and am a bit sad they are not common around here.
