Dork Gently: NearCanuck: Dork Gently: I like my women like I like my coffee.

Bouncy and buzzy?

Covered in bees.

Ah.  I see.

I was wondering where a quote from The Edge fit in.

That clears that up.

NotThatGuyAgain: ManifestDestiny: Smackledorfer: ManifestDestiny: Holy crap, that trampoline! Tetanus much?

Tetanus isn't from rust.

I'm fully aware that tetanus isn't caused by iron oxide.

However, as even the link you posted states...the conditions that promote rusting also support the tetanus bacteria. And exposed trampoline springs with that amount of rust are a hazard in terms of scratches, pinches, and cuts.

A little over a month ago I made a finger about 5/16th or so shorter with a jointer.  I realized I couldn't remember the last time I had a tetanus vaccine so I actually adulted and went and got one.  Got a shingles vaccine (shot 1, #2 to come) while i was there.

Gotta say, I was almost surprised at what a pain in the ass it was to find a place to get one in these Covid time.  I don't have a dedicated PCP so I called several Doc in a Box joints and most said they wouldn't prescribe a tetanus shot unless they treated me for my already treated finger (I can bandage a wound ferchissake), and when I said "OK, when can I come in" they all referred me to somewhere else.  They all started with "We can't give you one unless it's an emergency."  "Look, I told you a cut the tip of my finger off, does that qualify?"  Amazing.

Where I live, pharmacies can do vaccines. It's a lot easier than going through a doctor, and you generally don't need an appointment. Might be worth looking into?

The conditions in the soil that lead to rusting are the conditions in the soil that leads to tetanus. The springs aren't in soil, so whether or not they are rusty has nothing to do with tetanus.

But whatevs, it's stupid to have a hazardously rotting trambampoline in the yard for a variety of reasons.

I went through this experience several years ago.

Finally, the local clinic told me to go to a local pharmacy (in a retail store). Sure enough...
