All the women bailed outside the occasional cheezus cameo.

Looking around at what few of us are left, can you blame them?

These threads have gone from 200-300 posts to just barely over 100. And that's the 3 hour show. Because of Covid, and the lack of performers, it's essentially the same show week after week. They (RAW and Smackdown) used to be fun to watch, now, at best, they're just background noise while I do other stuff.

These threads have gone from 1,000-2,000 posts weekly to where we're at now (and we even cracked 5,000 for Mania once.) This is a far cry from the fWc glory days, and given the tedious nature of the programming right now, at least some of that is easily understandable.

Longtime wrestling fan here. I'm 41. Grew up on Hulk, Savage, Warrior, etc. College, for me, was the Attitude Era. I was in some of those Gredunza threads as well.

I tuned out wrestling the second CM Punk left. I've just started to get back into it because there's so little sports on, but a three-hour Raw plus Smackdown plus NXT plus countless PPVs.

I hate to sound like get off my lawn guy, but the major criticism I have of WWE is that there are way too many PPVs. Back in the day when you had only 4 PPVs (Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summer Slam & Survivor Series), you had no choice but to tell the story as well as possible to build to a PPV.

Now it just seems like a bunch of storylines thrown together & hope they stick for the PPV. Honestly, the mid-card would do way better with fewer PPVs. Jake The Snake was really a mid-card card guy, but he was so good at carrying a story that he became a legend without holding a belt. Same goes for guys like Ted Dibiase or Rick Rude. They were never truly main event talent, but they had time to build a story arc so it felt bigger than they really were.

Interest was steeply declining -before- Covid.

Pandemic, RIots, cities burning, wrestlers getting the Rona, PETS HEADS FALLING OFF!!!

I could actually go for a contract signing to going off without incident for once

I've been lamenting the PPV glut for over 20 years due to the way it truncates all the story telling. When you've only got three weeks to build a feud there isn't any real reason to invest in it as a fan. And despite what WWE clearly thinks, more segments on every program related to the same storyline does NOT successfully build that story the same way that 8-12 weeks of spread out segments do.

Get back to the old system of 1 segment per show per feud, with more total stories going on, and get these guys and gals in the ring for actual matches (Covid strangeness notwithstanding.) If your workers aren't WORKING, how do you expect to ever build new stars so that the "Big 4" PPVs aren't just crammed full of old-timers limping through drawn out garbage matches (ie Taker, Hunter, Goldberg, Lesnar, Edge, etc.)

minor complaint: there's no drama in the double crawl spot during a mixed tag.. there's no real advantage to whomever tags first

EqualOpportunityEnslaver: indybill23: Has anyone explained properly why mvp is in the ring in 2020?

I assume it's because he's willing to work (and for cheap) during a pandemic

And lives in the area of the Performance Center?

I don't know WTF Asuka said, but she cut a better promo than Sasha has ever cut in her career

It's more of he is going to be on the mic a lot but if/when the right story pops up, he can go back to wrestling. I think it's a good way to let him have a longer career.

The Bestest: ..or rather her contract expires tomorrow.. dunno how long her non-compete is for

If contracts expire, I'm pretty sure the no-compete is different than if they're released, otherwise it'd be 90 days, but yeah, with no Becks or Rousey or Charlotte long term, Tessa is pretty much a lock.
