The arts are going to take beating, not just businesses.
Yes I know that's a business, but you know what I mean.

Anyone else think the word "amid" gets thrown into headlines an awful lot nowadays? I get that it works, but please, headline writers, pull out a thesaurus and paint me a picture with those words you just learnt.

Great.  *Now* where I'm gong to see overweight twins in g-string maid outfits juggling huge dildos while a fake orgy happens on stage?!

I thought Zoomanity was a fun show.  The MJ One was about an 8.7/10 on the creepy scale but a very good show.

Last one I saw was O.  I really enjoyed Cirque du Soleil before it went super mainstream and still had a good time at the recent show.  Still have the soundtrack to Saltimbanco which has a tango in it that my wife and I danced to at our wedding.

I got to see Ka with a friend using that free myVegas rewards app thing. Ended up doing a free whiskey tasting at the time. He couldn't finish so had 7 whiskeys before the show and it was AWESOME! The show had a bunch of moving sets and falling around from high spaces, just wild to see the stunts post-drinking.

Back in 2013, an accident happened at Ka and one of the performers died after falling in one of those high-flying stunts. My Cirque friends knew her from a joint tour they were on (IIRC, it was 7 years ago). It's one of the shows I've not gotten the chance to see that I still have on my list.

That would explain why she wanted me to wear a Rick James wig.  It doesn't explain why your mom wanted me to wear it too.  :)

They have to give preference
to the shortest words that work.

Otherwise, they couldn't fit the
headlines into 25% of the width
of my screen.

I've only seen Love (the Beatles one), but that was pretty awesome.

It's going to be a pretty devastating year for anyone whose income relies on live entertainment.

I'm kinda surprised nobody has done a full scale "Live from My House" Netflix comedy special.

Oh man, I didn't know that. They were falling from this top of a platform a couple of stories up. I wonder if it was a case where they missed or got knocked offline from whatever safe landing area was below the stage. Given how high they were, I can see how someone might not live. It is a great show to see given the way they handle the fight scenes and leaps, but man, even scarier now knowing that and still seeing them fall like that. I saw it post-2013 so I wonder if they changed anything (they were still falling from rather far up heights)

Moon Frye should've left them enough spare titty meat to do anything.

A friend was a high level manager for that show and quit before the accident because they wouldn't fix the safety problems.

Ka is the best show I've ever seen, and I was stone cold sober.   The huge moving stage blew my mind, and I knew about it in advance.  Would love to take a backstage tour.

Examples of the non "garbage" that won't survive?

Cirque may be glitzy, performed in capitalism's playground, and commercialized, but that doesn't make it garbage.
