The Weld version is better listening, but he looks so darn happy playing the guitar in this one.

People who invest in Broadway shows are either idiots, or Disney.

karnal: how can they not go bankrupt?

Who? The people owning the theaters which were all built a century ago and have been raking in tens of millions ever since?

The producers, who are are all incredibly wealthy and generally aren't committed to long term contracts?

This sucks for the actors and stagehands and it's terrible for the economy but bankruptcy is not a problem here. We're not talking about Macy's which has massive rent to pay.

One of the first things I thought: What happens to all the musicians, actors, dancers, stage workers, costume designers, ticket takers, parking attendants, etc.? There are thousands of people who rely on those productions for a living. Where do they go now?

I live in a part of NJ that is an under one hour express bus ride from Times Square (theater district) during off hours. As long as you don't have to deal with the rush hours it is quite accessible and unlike the trains, there is frequent service until close to midnight so we have a number of people employed by Broadway. Things are going to get ugly soon.
