I wouldn't call a place with flying snakes "Paradise" but whatever.

Thank you interdisciplinary team of scientists for your 20 years of work that lead to discovering that aerial undulation enhances rotational stability in flying snakes. How ever could we have lived without this knowledge?

Isn't aerial undulation a thing in the Kama Sutra?

Does it fight monkeys?

Pure science may seem like a waste, but who knows what this work will lead to in more practical areas. Better understandings of aerodynamics and computer modeling could have plenty of applications. Also, all knowledge is valuable.

And I thought my research was niche.

I am waiting eagerly for heat-seeking flying snake dildos.

It would be great if they could fly around inside actual flying planes. Inflight entertainment!

I love these concepts of 3d computer models.

"We don't know how this snake flies."

"Watch this. I am a scientist." [draws picture of flying snake]

"What does that prove?"

"Look, when the snake flies, it looks like this, right?" [flips pages really fast]

"Yes..."

"BOOM science!"

:O  gasp

Y'all laugh now, but when robo-snake drones fly without noisy props, and can deliver either a rechargeable taser shock or a cocktail of different drugs, who's going to be laughing then?

Skynet. Skynet will be laughing. After giving the next generation of Terminators robo-snake wangs just for terrifying giggles.

Only if the monkeys have switchblades.

Heard about this on NPR this afternoon.  Actually is interesting and yes somebody they talked to mentioned what they have learned in the development of drones.
